he kept him as the apple of his eye.

Just as no sparrow can fall to the ground anywhere in the whole earth, except the Father in heaven, the Creator of all life, permits it.

Those who are, as God Himself says (not as men think), the "apple of His eye",

they have the care, nurturing, disciplining, scourging, training, protections of God all the time, as He "protects" His 'eye' as it is written in the Bible.
