Using that reasoning, it would seem to me you could interpret the Bible any way you want
Well you would be wrong.

If you wish to interpret 1st cwntury letters with only a 21st century mindset- well we have seen the damage caused by the church with that . Joel Osteen Benny HInn, Joyce Meyers et.al.

I think mindset has nothing to do with it. If the Lord said, "Don't steal," then you shouldn't steal.

WEll as that has the same meaning in the first and 21st century -yes! But there are many things written that mean something different (either a little or alot) from the first to the 21st century. The kingdom of heaven (God) is one.

In the Old Testament, God was speaking to the Jews. However, the facts he stated then remain facts to day. For example, he said homosexuality was an abomination.

Now you are going from a phrase about the long awaited kingdom promised to Israel, to what a sin is. that is apples and oranges

I just wanted to point out that behavior that was destructive in Bible times is destructive today, as well.

First Corinthians chapter 2. You need holy spirit to convict you of sin to repent. Jesus was crucified for the saints and the ethnos =nations = kings and queens.
Some people are going to follow satan into lake of fire on judgement day, revelation chapter 20 and psalm chapter 73.
Psalm chapter 49:19. Many people dont have holy spirit, they have spirit of stupor.
God knows His children from the first earth age. Some of them are rotten bunch. Thier not getting the holy spirit.
The heathen and wicked are going to follow satan at end of millennium into lake of fire.
Reality is, some people will tell Jesus on judgement day, I hate you, and satan is my king.
God knows His children. He's going to have to destroy some of them.
