Study of God's word so that we know truth.
1. Understand from the start that the Old Testament was written to the Jews and it is for our understanding of God.
A. Look up definitions of words. In the case above it is the words to and for.
to -(used for expressing direction or motion or direction toward something) in the direction of;
toward: from north to south.
for - in order to obtain, gain, or acquire:
B. Prove this by finding scripture that the statement (1) above, or any below, is either true or false.
2. Understand from the start that the New Testament Gospel's were written about the life here on earth of Jesus Christ and how he explained and taught his chosen people, the Jews.
3. Understand from the start that the Epistles were written to the early Chirstians/Church and not to us. It was written for us.
4. Understand from the start that the Book of Revelation of Jesus Christ was written to the seven churches of Asia during the time it was written. It was written for us to understand that Jesus is God. It is also to explain the time, in symbolic language, that which was to come shortly in their lifetime, not ours.
5. To prove what anyone says, including the above, find scripture that is very clear about the subject. Do not use symbolic language unless that can be proven with at least two other scriptures that are very clear.
One can not state the importance of confirming the above statements that they might understand the Bible in it's entirety.
Example of #2 above: Gospels was to the Jews.
Joh 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
Mat 16:21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
Mat 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
The times that Jesus spoke to the Gentiles, was to heal or explain how the Jews thought:

Luk 7:2 And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.
Luk 7:8 For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
Luk 7:9 When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
Luk 7:10 And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.
Mar 7:26 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.
Mar 7:27 But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.
Mar 7:28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs.
Mar 7:29 And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.
