2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
These studies are trying to point out how one rightly divides God's word.

Matthew 13
10 And the disciples came and said to Him, "Why do You speak to them in parables?"
Jesus is going to speak to his disciples, they are Jews.

11 He answered and said to them, "Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.
Jesus tells them, his chosen, that to them (disciples) it has been given the understanding of the kingdom of heaven.

12 For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.
Even though Jesus is speaking to his disciples, he says to whosoever (anybody) that has understanding will be given more, but if one does not accept it, everything one knows about the kingdom of heaven will be taken away.

13 Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.
Parables are a way of speaking that takes away the ability of some to understand, even after explanation.

14 And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: 'Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive;

15 For the hearts of this people has grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes have they closed , lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, so that I should heal them.
Now Jesus says ‘hearts of this people (Jews of that time) has grown dull. So dull that they can not understand with their heart (have no love for the truth).

16 "But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear;

17 for assuredly, I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

24 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field;

25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.

26 But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared.

27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, 'Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?'

28 He said to them, 'An enemy has done this.' The servants said to him, 'Do you want us then to go and gather them up?'

29 But he said, 'No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them.

30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn."

36Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, "Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field."

37 He answered and said to them: "He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man.
The sower is Jesus.

38 The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one.
Here we see that the good seed are those who believe, and the tares are wicked.

39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels.
Here the disciples are told that the harvest is the end of the age. What age are they living in? They are living in the age commonly called ‘the age of law’. The harvest is at the end of the age of law.
This would be where one sees and hears but does not understand with their heart. Again it is the disciples age, not ours.
The fact that the reapers are angels, tells us it is a spiritual happening.

40 Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age.
The wicked are burned in fire at the end of the age, this is judgement day for the Jews who lived during the age of law and did not believe in God or that Jesus is the Messiah. (Could not be Christians since there were not any Christians at the time Jesus spoke to his disciples)

41 The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness,
Again those that did not, at the time, practice law, they were lawless.

42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Will cast out who? The wicked Jews, Gods chosen that were lawless.

43 Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!
Then the rightous, those that believe in Jesus, shall shine here on earth.
Who will hear? Those that hear and see with their hearts!

Eph 3:21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
The age of law has ended, the old has passed away. The new is the church age, or the kingdom of God, and it will never end!

Jesus is with his disciples when he hears about Lazarus.

Joh 11:11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
Joh 11:12 Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
Joh 11:13 Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
Joh 11:14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.

Although not always thought of as a parable, it is in fact similar. When God created Adam he told him that he could eat of every tree in the garden, save one. He was not to eat of the tree of good and evil, lest he die that day. He did eat and because God can not lie we know that he died. It was not a physical death, for we also know he lived physically for hundrends of years, it was a spiritual death. Since that time, all people have been born dead, spiritually. For more clearity, let us say we are/were ‘the walking dead’.

Now we must think like God to understand Jesus when he talks to his disciples, and then to Martha. God had made a way, through the law, that one day he would resurrect those faithful Jews, to eternal life. So when he told his disciples that Lazarus was sleeping, he meant he was sleeping until judgement day, when he would forever be with the Lord.

Joh 11:20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.
Joh 11:21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
Joh 11:22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.
Joh 11:23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
Joh 11:24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
Martha understood resurrection would happen on judgement day.

Joh 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
Jesus proclaims that he is the resurrction and the life, or He is God. Now we must ask, “How can the dead believe?” At this point he is speaking of people that are ‘the walking dead’, just as Adam walked around.
Now we paraphrase what Jesus said: ‘he that believeth in me, though he is a walking dead, yet shall he live spiritually.
He is offering the same spiritual life that Adam had before he disobeyed God.

Joh 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
Jesus then says, those that become alive and continue to believe, shall now have eternal life.

Now the question is, what is believing? Is it simply believing that Jesus existed?

Joh 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
So if we have believed as the scripture says, then we have received spiritual life. But what is it that the scripture says?

Joh 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
The question of being ‘BORN AGAIN’ has already been discussed in the ‘Debate Forum’.

We now know that the Jews were the walking dead, and they waited for the day when the Lord would come to set up his kingdom and the faithful dead Jews would be resurrected.

The Christian has no need to be resurrected, we have eternal life right now. Remember, Jesus said “we would never die.” John 11:26

We are living in the kingdom of God: It is the spiritual kingdom that Jesus has set up, whereby he resides in us.

1Co 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
