I try not to debate certain topics anymore but my husband and I are very against this anti-works mentality. We still have to fear the Lord and obey Him.

Every woman is different. We all have different strengths and weaknesses. My decorating is very minimal and Ill likely never change from that. But my home reflects me and Im learning to embrace that.
This may sound counterintuitive but our homes and all the things in them are going to burn up one day.
It's important to seek God and the Kingdom first ---all the rest, including upkeep of the home is secondary.
Once you prioritise seeking God in prayer, the rest falls into place.

At some point I realized there was no saving the world outside my home. Only influence within it
The Lord has not given wives, mothers, and homemakers the task of keeping up with politics or having a lot of knowledge on the personal affairs of others. It's not our office to know all the celebrity gossip or even keep up with what other Moms are doing.
It's our God, our husbands, children, and homes that should get the first fruits of our efforts without these distractions.

It's tempting to not put our best into our homes because the spaces will just have to be redone. Things will get messy again.
But the small things are the big things. A firework may be a fleeting experience but it's still something that brings joy. Homemaking can be the same when we put love into it.
