Even if our consciousness dies and is gone, God KNOWS us.
Yes, Only God 'Knows' the hearts of all. Amen!

Of course, it (our consciousness) does not "die / go", Scripturally:

For Conviction (about God's Undiluted Wrath ) to Not go to the Second Death,
God Does DESIRE "All men" To Be Saved By His:

Thanks Be To The LORD Jesus Christ, And His ALL-Sufficient BLOOD! Amen?!!!

-------------
And, precious friend(s), Please Be Very Richly Encouraged and Edified
In The Lord Jesus Christ and In His Precious Word Of Truth, Rightly
Divided:

The Bible: The BIG Picture

Amen.

How is such a thing possible? In order for the soul to leave the body upon death, it must break the laws of the universe. It is a supernatural event. But supernatural events do not happen in this universe precisely because they would break the laws of physics, and that's not possible.

My view is, once the brain dies, the person creases to exist because we are our brains. A great example of this is people who have suffered an extensive brain injury. They often experience significant changes in their personality because of the physical changes to their brains.

We still don't understand consciousness, it's true. It's possible that conciuousness is something that happens outside our brains and its interpreted in real time by the brain. However, I think that's unlikely given that it would require an insane amount of compute power from an outside source, and that the brain acting as a receiver would require an immense amount of power from the brain itself to interpret and render 3D reality in real time.

Therefore I conclude that it is very likely that there is nothing beyond the physical death of the brain. We return to the state we were in before we were born.

Thoughts? :IDK:
stars that light up the sky at night. It is always night somewhere. Also the meek inherit the earth which means until Heaven they are on Earth. The bible says Heaven is above the Earth.

Why can’t you believe in miracles? Is it because of what happened to your brother?
Because miracles don't happen, Matthias. The world is predictable and mundane. We live, we die, and that's it. I don't expect to see my brother again.

Because miracles don't happen, Matthias.

Miracles happen all around us, every day.

The world is predictable and mundane.

The world is unpredictable and surprising.

We live, we die, and that's it.

We live and die, but that’s not it. The resurrection of Jesus guarantees that it isn’t.

I don't expect to see my brother again.

Given that he died as a child, I expect to meet him at the second resurrection.

I don't. I gave it the old college try, but it's not something I was able to do.
Riven I was there when you confessed believing in Jesus as your Savior. It was Good Friday of this year.
You came to my online fellowship group.

What is it you think you need to do? Each of us are individuals, and we each grow spiritually at different speeds. Our Christian faith isn't a list of regulations. It's about trusting in the Lord as our Savior each day. The Lord gives us peace.

In order to grow we should try to read or listen to the Bible a bit so we can understand what God says to us. So we can rely on His promises, especially in difficult times. And pray, which is just talking with the Lord. This can be simple prayer throughout the day...even a thought towards God is a prayer.

I do think new Christians need to be careful on Christian forums as there can sometimes be a lot of craziness put forth. It's best to find a sound church and get grounded in the Bible.

I can't. Dont you understand that? I can't force myself to be something I'm not.
@Riven Riven, just keep believing in the Lord. Keep a simple faith and you will grow. You don't need to be a carbon copy of anyone else. The Lord wants you to simply trust Him. Don't complicate things.

Just to make sure my point was clear: My understanding is that our consciousness is currently tied to our flesh-and-blood brains. Which is why things like Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, Alzheimer's Disease, glioblastomas, etc. affect our consciousness. Scripturally, "dead" is dead. When our brain dies, our consciousness dies with it. But God KNOWS us and can recreate (resurrect) our consciousness.

Hi Riven… I want to address the brain injury point—I have a brother-in-law who recently sustained a very bad head injury from a fall and now, his mind has been badly affected.

Moving on…. Let’s say that you were a great guitar player. If some of the strings on your guitar got busted somehow, the music wouldn’t sound right anymore; the music wouldn’t sound the same as before… Now if you only looked at the guitar, you'd naturally assume that the music was created by the strings and therefore disappeared when they broke. But wait a minute, the music didn't come from the guitar—it came from the guitarist‘s soul. The guitar was just the tool used to bring that music from the soul out into the room. Maybe the brain is like that—It's the instrument the soul uses to interact with this world. So when someone has a brain injury, it's not that the person has been erased; it's just that the instrument is damaged (broken)— but when we die, God will put us back into our spiritual bodies that will never again be broken. Does that make any sense?

Agreed, when our works are judged we will remember and understand.

Why wouldn't a loving God just leave atheists dead?
Why resurrect them just to throw them into a lake of fire?
What's the point of that?

It's not unlikely when you stand in judgement for God's throne experiencing His holiness you will run into the Lake of Fire by your own free will to escape from the light.

So :

1. The Bible is full of lies ?

2. Jesus never performed a miracle, all made up ?

3. The 11 apostles knowingly lied about the resurrection and yet they all died for that lie? 11 crazy people ?

4. Will you believe the miracles people on this forum experienced ?

What if you're born with a brain injury? What will God do with those people?
Seems very unfair that a God that can magically fix people doesn't bother until after they're dead.

In mainstream medicine, biology, and neuroscience, the soul is treated as a philosophical, religious, or cultural concept rather than a physical or measurable entity. It cannot be detected in a test tube, weighed, or observed under a microscope.

So why bother coming to a Christian forum? Do you feel the need to pick other people's faith apart? Why bother people of faith?

I can live with that.
@Mancunian @Sel@h @amigo de christo
No, you can’t. You will be wailing. Forever regretting your decision.

Sorry, but the Bible tells us it is a literal lake of fire and it will be horrendous. The Lord doesn’t say that the damned will no longer exist.

After Judgement Day they are thrown into the lake of fire. God’s righteous judgment for denying the Son of God Christ Jesus, who died and rose again so we can receive forgiveness of sins and live in blissful eternity with Him. It is a free gift from God. But we have to accept it whilst we are in this life. Once we leave this life, it’s too late. Believe on Him today. Tomorrow might be too late.

See Marveloustime's post.
People like that threaten people like me with that nonsense all the time. I wanted to see if there was any good reason for it.
I have to say, I haven't seen any good reason to believe any of it.
If I'm bothering people, just asking them to justify why they think the things that they do, then so be it.
I think I'm respectful to people who don't threaten me with eternal torture.
