I wish that I had spent more time with my sister in this life, I actually had the chance to do that but sadly that ship sailed.
I've learned from the experience though, now I spend as much time as I can with loved one's.
Since I've realised that this life isn't a dress rehearsal and will end at some point, I believe I've become a better person.

As for hope.... I hope for grandchildren some day, I hope for a good, healthy few years of retirement and hope to travel and spend quality time with Mrs Mancunian.
I don't have a lot to say M.
Just a few observations.
1. Spend time with the Mrs. now...you don't know if you'll have a tomorrow. Quality time, as you put it.

2. You should be happy. Christianity is not as healthy as it used to be. Seems people perfer to just do whatever they want to instead of what is right...which, by the way, is what allows a civilization to continue.
So good luck once you get your wish and Christianity is gone. I just hope the Muslims don't take over..I'd rather have atheists if I have to choose.

3. You can continue having your conversation with these nice Christian folk here....but my suggestion would be this: Just look around you and explain where all THIS comes from. The web telescope has been traveling for about 30 years now...no sign of life anywhere. You'd think we were special or something.
And can life come from nothing?
Good question that requires a reply.

We are headed into a brave new world.
What will it be like without parental authority or God?
Good question that requires a reply.

I wish I knew what to say to you, @Mancunian.

If I tell you you’ll see your sister again, you wouldn’t believe me.

I liken the garden of Eden story to putting toddlers into a sweet shop and expecting them to behave without supervision. God is all knowing apparently, so God must have known what the outcome would be beforehand...
It's almost like he wanted them to fall.
He did know what would happen, but that didn't remove their power of choice. Wanted them to fall? They had a forest to live in, they had God Himself for company to explain their place in the world, to teach them science and anything else that took their fancy, and the only test of obedience was one tree they had to leave alone... in the midst of a forest of beauty and every good food needed. They were warned. They weren't children, and their levels of intelligence unlimited. Eve was deceived, Adam didn't want to lose her. He didn't trust God to deal fairly with Adam if he chose God first and lost Eve. And so here we are. Hardly any of Adam's posterity has learned any different. Seemingly you included sadly. You see a lot of suffering in the world, and it is good and right to ask questions. And none of us have all the answers, but Christians have chosen to trust God despite what he sees, sometimes in his/ her own family, and in his own life. Remember, it isn't just "others" who suffer. We have all lost brothers, sisters, mums and dads and children, and I have lost a grandchild. My brother was 22 when he died. My father 54. My grandchild, 3 months. Yet we trust God. Why? Because of Jesus. Because God gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life. That's all the proof we need to show God's unconditional love.

We still have one problem:
WHY did the angels rebel?
That is an evil.
Where is the source of that evil?
Great question. No-one knows.
Choosing whom one will serve...
denotes that there is a choice between two equals.
Why? That choice is with us today. We need to decide which one we trust. Who is telling the truth and who is lying? Is God really a God of love or is he as His enemy has painted him and most people believe.... selfish and vengeful?

Nobody talks so constantly about God as those who insist that there is no God.
-- Heywood Broun US journalist (1888 - 1939)
When did I insist that there is no God?
Show me a post where I insist that there's no God.

I am not in the mood to search for the post where you said you are an atheist-agnost with the emphasis on atheist.

Besides of that, you are here on a Christian forum and when you speak about God (with the capital G) we don't expect you to speak about Allah, Buddha etc. but about the Christian God of the Bible, the One who gave you life, the One you have a big problem with, the One you can't stop talking about.

Also,,why would God have to vindicate Himself to angels?
We have no idea of the intensity or the duration of the debates and politicking

(polemo... usually means war, throughout the hostilities as opposed to just one random battle, but it's difficult to imagine all out physical combat without some very intensive discussions between the two sides leaving many unconvinced either way and open to persuasion before what is referenced in Rev.12:7. A surprise attack against the Throne would be impossible, so some secret politicking had to be varied or on Lucifer part well before any item challenges being made surely?)...
that must have dominated heaven prior to Lucifer's success in drawing a third of the angels to his side. Look at this from God's perspective. Here He was, faced with an insurrection. Much doubt perhaps still lingered among even the loyal angels, wondering about God's reaction. Will He simply destroy Lucifer and put down the insurrection on the spot? Surely He had the power and the authority! And there have been churches throughout history that believe that was in God's heart and have themselves done that very thing to their enemies. But Jesus said love your enemies. Jesus rebuked the disciples for wanting to rain fire down from heaven to destroy a village of Samaritans. "You don't know of what spirit you are" He said. They were demonstrating the spirit of Satan, who had demonstrated that himself throughout history. So why did God not destroy him and save the world a lot of trouble? Because that would not have settled the controversy. That would have affirmed Lucifers charges against God's government. The loyal angels would have continued to serve God, but or of fear rather than love. So God had to give Lucifer am opportunity to prove his accusations were justified, and if not, God's character is vindicated. All was answered at Calvary. All doubts were squashed. Satan was pertinent a murderer and liar, and God proven to be love.
Sadly, not all of us are yet fully persuaded. Just hear the accusations against God on this thread and others. Read how atheists abuse God on forums dealing with this topic elsewhere where they are given more license. Before Jesus comes however, God will have a people living in a manner that utterly repudiates Satan's accusations regarding God's laws, His mercy, and grace.

Have you bothered to research the compelling paranormal evidence for postmortem suvivial from near-death experiences and shared death experiences.
