Only the victims are asked to forgive. You and I have no business thinking we are in a position to do so. It didn't happen to us. On the other hand, the enforcement of law on these offenders is not unrighteous nor is it unforgiveness. As I shared in my recent post, without deterrents the crime rate would escalate to monumental proportions. This would create an injustice to all the potential victims of crime. Would you want that on your head?
But I must disagree with your comment. God punished David by the death of his son, when David sinned. However, David was a man after God's own heart, and he prospered in his kingdom rather than taking the full punishment for what he did. Though there were consequences leveled to him, he was ultimately forgiven. Crime has consequences. This has nothing to do with unforgiveness, but rather to protect the public. If God didn't care about that, He would not have instituted laws in the first place.

If there's not complete absolution, then the forgiveness is only partial.

I said in my first post under this topic, "If you don't follow God's law, you don't love God. If you don't protect your neighbor, you don't love your neighbor." Kindness to a criminal is cruelness to the innocent. Who is my neighbor? Not the man who mugged me, not the men that ignored my need, but the man who helped me.

David was punished, therefor he wasn't forgiven, at least not fully.

Hos 6:6 , "For I desired...", means "I take pleasure..." You know, I assume, that God Himself instituted sacrifice, including and up to sacrificing His Son. Yet, you appear to think that the sacrifice of animals was somehow disobedience to God. God wanted sacrifice, but it's not what He took pleasure in. As Jesus noted, the Jews should have done these things, but they neglected other things.

If you had read the account of the woman who committed adultery, you would know why Jesus didn't execute her and it has little to do with what you imply is the reason. It was against the law.

Spot On. As you know the Jews broke the law in failure to proceed according to it and thereby placed themselves under the condemnation of the law, itself. Hence, Jesus response- paraphrased "he who hasn't broke the law(procedure) to supposedly uphold the law(back Christ into a corner), let him cast the first stone".

Details regarding the administration of the law and additional boundaries on sexual behavior followed. For example, an ordeal was established to prove the guilt or innocence of a wife whose husband suspected her of adultery. Adultery was a capital crime and if adulterers were caught, at least two witnesses were required before the death penalty would be carried out.

Since men were permitted to have multiple wives, adultery was interpreted to consist of sexual relations between a man and a married or betrothed woman who was not his wife. A man who had sexual relations with a woman who was not married or betrothed was not guilty of adultery, per se, but the man was then obligated to marry the woman, unless her father forbid it

I read these above comments of 'Arnie Manitoba' and found them sickening.
It's incredibly unnerving and hypocritical to read such comments from a North American who lives on soil that was stolen from an original people by ancestors using the same slander and hateful prejudices. For the first 100 years, the original occupants of North America were named as worthless savages and exterminated by Europeans. The next hundred years saw America extend the same destructive mentality to their African slaves/citizens. These too were deemed worthless sub-humans.
Not satisfied with eradicating evil, we have some gleefully recommending that we exterminate the so-called evil doers. Our ancestors too were not content to share their cultural sophistication with the original citizens. They chose to name them as evil and nearly murdered them all.
It's very difficult for me to comprehend how people like 'Arnie Manitoba' have such deplorable memory lapses pertaining to their own nation's history.
I suggest that 'Arnie Manitoba' eat some history lessons and maybe obtain a proper Christian perspective about human beings. Most certainly, Jesus would never have uttered this kind of hateful poisonous bias.
I'm not a Muslim. I'm a white North American. But I do know history. And I do recognize self-serving hypocrisy when I see it.
