We are told to watch, part of that to me is watching the so-called prophets within the church today. What I have found with them is they do not put their words from God in writing and that is a prophet to me. I only know of one, and she is a prophetess, but all words are written from the Lord and says "saith the Lord of Hosts" Do you know any?

Please note that the title of this thread asks this question: - "How many real prophets frequent this forum?"

The same question can also be applied within the realm of "the Church," but that question should only be answered within the church's environment.

In the Letters of the NT, we are advised to validate what "prophets" present to us as words that they have been received from the lord and to consider whether or not the "prophecies" they bring are applicable for those within the relevant structures to heed.

Some on this forum bring forward visions and/or impressions that they have received, and they then wait for some clarification from other members on this forum to confirm or reject the visions and/or words that they have received.

Other members silence or their actual responses to what has been presented as visions and/or impressions is required but the respective responses are only useful if they engender a positive response towards our relationship with God that lifts us all up to grow closer to God so that we gain our nourishment from the soil where he has scattered His seeds to grow in strength and resilience.

Shalom

Recent discussion has centred on whether or not certain people on this forum can honestly claim that they were called by God to the role of being a Prophet.

Some claim that the Holy Spirit has prompted them to be a prophet on this forum as well as in their respective places of "Worship."

Do the claimed prophets actually live up to the calling on their lives.

Your thoughts.

Shalom
'How many real prophets frequent this forum?'

This is an important question. Why? Because the Lord said this:

Jn 13:20 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who receives whomever I send receives Me; and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me."

Should be "their respective places of worship".

Real prophets speak forth the Word of God to equip the saints for the work of ministry in order to build up the body of Christ.

And what IS the Spirit of prophecy , the Testimony of JESUS CHRIST .
So to whom so ever asked has any true prophets visited this forum
I would simply say that anyone whether they claimed to be one or not
Yet spoke words contrary to HIS , was no prophet .
No prophet of God , let alone a true beleiver in CHRIST JESUS
would ever dare to promote a love that turns HIM into an ac ceptor of any sin
OR unbelief . So any love that does so is NOT coming from GOD . it is of the world and the darkness .
And its father is simply cloaking the darkness as though it be light .
Let us all remember this well the next time we hear or see of anyone
who promotes a lie . THE LIE . The one that implies
that muslims , buddists and all false religoins are coming to God in different ways . THAT LIE .
For there is only one way , HIS NAME JESUS CHRIST and to be s aved ONe must believe on HIM .
And remember HE dont honor ANY sin . So he wont be kissing korans and budda statues for world peace
NOR holding hundred dollars bills , or a rianbow or any sin .

And now a word of reminder and of caution .
B ut he who receives NOT the testimony that GOD gave of the SON has called GOD a liar .
He who has the SON has life but he who has not the SON has not life but the wrath of GOD a bides on HIM .
SO allow a reminder .
Sirs what must I DO to b e saved . Answer , BELIEVE on JESUS THE CHRIST .
Unbelief is reb ellion . And to call GOD a liar will not justify a man or make him righteous .
Just a reminder for us all to be on guard f or many now preach another , inclusvie gospel that AINT no gospel .

How many "prophets" can pass the Deuteronomy 18:21-22 test?

21 You may say in your heart, ‘How will we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?’ 22 When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not come about or come true, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.

How many real prophets frequent this forum?

A prophet IS:
Someone …
WHO DOES…
Proclaim…the Will of God.

A prophet IS:
Someone
WHOM AN OTHER
Regards is an inspired Teacher of Gods Word.

God appointed / established, HIS Prophets Directly.
OT to ISRAEL /
NT to Tribes of ISRAEL /
NT Saul / Paul to Tribes of ISRAEL, GENTILES & KINGS (of Nations).

Scripture IS:
The Written Record, Viable Source FOR…
ANY “Student” / “Listener”…
To… Verify…a “Teachers” Teaching.

The TEACHING…is Very Basic.
IF… you Do This…
That Action…IS pleasing and Acceptable TO God….
AND …
The Result WILL be Favorable for the person.

IF… you do That…
That Action is NOT pleasing and Acceptable TO God…
AND …
The Result is NOT pleasing and Acceptable
FOR the person.

On ”RARE” Occasions, Scripture “Includes”…

The WHY, The FOR, The BECAUSE, The “UNDERSTANDING”…. Of Intent.

On “USUAL” Teachings of Gods Word…the “Understanding” thereof…IS NOT IN the written Record of Scripture…
(THUS) No “source” for the STUDENT to “Verify”.

The Students Dilemma… Why / How??
Gods stance….
Faith, Trust, Surrender…TO HIM…
AND…
From God, “HIS” Understanding…
WILL be “Measured” Against “Your Faith, Your Trust”…
And By that Same Measure…
God WILL GIVE “YOU”…
HIS Understanding!

Recurring Problem…
* Natural man, little to no…Faith, Trust IN God…WANT (even demand) the “UNDERSTANDING” Before making a commitment of surrender.

Recurring Problem…
* men who HAVE surrendered…HAVE Faith, HAVE Trust, and HAVE Understanding From God…
* Doing Acrobats, back flips, attempting to Accommodate, he with no or little Faith / Trust… by sharing “Gods Understanding THEY have received”…
* AND?
The Result?
Dastardly.
Why?

Because…
The Understanding of Gods Word IS A “Spiritual Gift” from God….TO and FOR a mans “NEW BORN AGAIN Spirit”…

The Understanding of Gods Word, given TO a man, (WITH-OUT) a born again spirit…
Can ONLY “Try” ( and FAIL ) to MAKE “sense” of Gods Word….
IN his “Carnal Mind”!

A FAIL… Because… The Carnal Mind of manKIND, by Design….IS AGAINST God.
(Rom 8:7)
AND Without a Born Again Spirit…
A mans “natural Carnal Mind” Remains…
Against God…
His Being, His Word, His Understanding.

IN Point…
Understanding of Gods Word, comes From God… Period.

IN Point…
Teaching, Discussing, Gods Understanding of His Word…
IS FUEL For the Quickened man;
IS INCOMPREHENSIBLE For the natural man.

(and can quickly evolve TO anger, frustration, disputes, attacks, plots, even all out wars, death and destruction).

Nearly …1 Million Words IN Scripture
Approx…13,000+ words “For” / Reasoning
Approx…1,300+ words “Because” / Point
Once……”This Day”…Freely Choose to Give your Life to God.
(Josh 24:15)
(1 Thes 1:4)

On this forum, AS in any place…
Division, Between, Us / Them Exists.

No worries…God from the Beginning Established…
* Division
* Freewill to Choose.
* God is simply “Tallying” the Divided, With or Without Him.

Glory to God,
Taken

and let us remember the chapter in deut thirteen .
This one suprises a whole lotta folks .
For even a false prophet can tell of a dream or a vision
and THAT event can COME to pass , but he was there all along to DECIEVE them .
Oh yes lambando . For the LORD thy GOD does test thee to prove whether ye love THE LORD .
Let that be a reminder to us all as well as deut eighteen , as well as ALL things JESUS said and taught
and later the apostels would leave for us in the holy book known as and called the bible .

Real prophets ?
That stopped in the times of Paul
..
That is such an "enlightening" assessment you gave there and so true!
Not to worry though! You are NOT alone in this "mindet/assessment and attitude!"
For when you "Crunch the numbers" so to speak?
What is REALLY being said?
Is you're ONLY going to FIND "Christianity" (and Jesus Christ of Nazareth, along with HE who SENT Him with the Good News) IN PRINT!
SOMEWHERE in what is called the "Holy Bible!"
Because? Of a CERTAINTY?
You're NOT going to find it, let alone SEE it, ANYWHERE ELSE!
If THAT ain't sad?
I don't know what is!

No, 1 Corinthians 14:1-5 shows that Paul expected prophesy to continue within the Church.

14 Pursue love, yet earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. 2 For the one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people, but to God; for no one understands, but in his spirit he speaks mysteries. 3 But the one who prophesies speaks to people for edification, exhortation, and consolation. 4 The one who speaks in a tongue edifies himself; but the one who prophesies edifies the church. 5 Now I wish that you all spoke in tongues, but rather that you would prophesy; and greater is the one who prophesies than the one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may receive edification.

John the Baptist was the last old testament prophet. New Testament prophets are messengers of God's word. For instance, a pastor friend of mine was very sick. I've been to his house. The Holy Spirit told me to go to my pastor friends house and tell him he had 100 days left to live. This was last year April 29. On the second week of August he died. Exactly 100 days. I'm not a prophet. I have more stories.
Technically, that meets the Deuteronomy 18:21-22 criteria, though I'm not going to grant you Prophet status either.

Dunno about being "Called" by God Jay!
T'was more of a "I chose YOU!"
Ain't awfully SURE about the "Prophet thing" either!
But? As events during this "slice of Eternity" keep happening?
It SEEMS to me that it ain't so much the matter of (a) "what", as it is a matter of "when!"
Or MAYBE? It's that "God is NO respecter of a matter of persons?"
Cuz WHY IN HEAVEN'S NAME DID HE CHOOSE ME?
WHAT was HE thinking?............
Anyway?..........:Broadly::Laughingoutloud:

i see nuns with guns . That aint a good sign either .
Nuns cause often they are associated with a very deadly place , though not always .
And how much worse nuns with guns . Something aint right . but for more info
i suggest we actually DO read that book called the bible for ourselves .

Are you calling Yeshua's words a lie? Matthew 23:34 (KJV) Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
I'm calling IGNORANT the ones who refuse to accept that Christ had specific teachings for various audiences & times

His words save or condemn what He said has not changed with all who believe in the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. Was the Lord prophesying this truth?: Matthew 15:9 (KJV) But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Who's words are taught in all those religions?

Are you claiming EVERYTHING that Christ taught applies to how you TODAY are saved ?

We are told how and where He and Father abide so you answer that question for yourself I have for myself. Chew on His words to answer for yourself. John 14:23 (KJV) Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. John 14:26 (KJV) But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

The perfect has not yet come. The perfect is Jesus. It is absurd to think Paul meant the completed canon of scripture.

I look around, and the perfect ain't here yet.
Verse 12 makes explicitly clear: The Perfect comes when we see Jesus face-to-face.
