When Adam and Eve disobeyed word of God (Genesis 3), sin entered human nature itself. This "The Origin of Sin" is not about individual acts like theft or murder (though those flow from it), but a broken relationship with God. As Romans 5:12 explains, "sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, in this way death spread to all people because all sinned."

For the word of God is the life.

In essence:

• The Origin of Sin = Personal acts of disobedience the word of God.

This distinction explains why even "good people" need salvation (John 3:3–5). Grace alone restores what law cannot fix.

Trump is the only one I've ever heard claim to have never done anything that needed forgiveness.

It's sad that some people's definition of original sin is to claim God put sin in each little baby and it was God that made each person to have sin in them at birth.... it's a pathetic demonic accusation against the Lord.

That's really a joke. You're the only one who believes what you do, which is true for just about everyone in this forum. The only correct understanding of scripture is what they develop on their own. It's amazing scripture has so many meanings.

Wow, if that were true then you have the Lord being in agreement with all kinds of stuff He is not in agreement with... these things are spiritually discerned by the leading of the Holy Spirit... based on what God's Word says not be every wind of doctrine floating around

Really? Your statement belies reality. Look around you, not that there were innovations to scripture before the Protestant Reformation, one can number in the many hundreds of denomination whose only existence is based on different meanings of scripture. I can assure you that these many different understandings do not come from the Holy Spirit.

Uh huh, and if you read God's Word you will find out WHY there are so many false doctrines floating around.... the ol devil is out there teaching doctrines of demons as though it came from the Lord.

We can see how the devil works in what happened with Adam and Eve... God gave them simple instructions to follow and then the devil came along and provide a different story and they decided to believe the devil rather than holding fast to what God said.

The problem always comes back to... not standing on what God said and/or adding to what God said.

So, the only basis of understanding is what the Holy Spirit gives to you, even though every other person holds to that same view,. Just how do you then determine your understanding is actually of the Holy Spirit. The answer lies in Jude 3.

Accepting the whole counsel of God is the starting point.... God says much more in His Word than we you see in Jude 3

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

HOW did they get faith, and WHERE did their faith come from that they are contending for?

Only by the Apostles through Christ's own teachings and the Holy Spirit. Then we have almost 50 years of putting that Gospel into practice and understanding. That Gospel was given once for all, for all time. It was not given for individual man to add his understanding to it and call it the Gospel, when it is a gospel I Tim 3:15 will help you as well. Show me were in scripture that the Holy Spirit gives additional revelation to individual believers throughout time?

Jesus IS God's Word... and faith comes from hearing God's Word

The immortality of the soul is a curious thing because it pre-supposes that eternal life is not conditional on the gospel. Why would one need the gospel if their soul is already immortal? I believe this doctrine undermines Christianity.

Exactly, man then has no need of a saviour or redeemer if they are immortal of self, Christ is taken out of the picture. Satan is the only one pleased...
