How to Please God?

Reaching and seeing God is not important. Even demons have seen God very closely but they were destroyed finally because God was not really pleased with them. These demons did penance and got boons by force. Their penance was only chanting the name of God and meditation. So they sacrificed only words and mind. They never sacrificed anything practically by participating in the mission of the Lord. Therefore the people who want to get boons from the Lord by sacrificing just words and mind only are by no means different from the demons. Today, people are sacrificing only words and mind and sometimes even their tears. These words, mind and tears cannot be sold in the market even for a single penny.


The people who sacrifice their work and the fruit of their work (money) for the sake of God and do not aspire for anything in return, are angels and sages. A man in between these two stages sacrifices practically but sometimes asks for selfish boons when an emergency arises. Sacrifice of the fruit of work is also sacrifice of work because the fruit of work is a different form of the work itself. Therefore, both these come under ‘sacrifice of work’. In the Gita, sacrifice of work is called Karma Sanyasa Yoga and sacrifice of fruit of work is called Karma Phala Tyaga Yoga. Since both only mean the sacrifice of work, both put together is called ‘Karma Yoga’ or ‘Service to God’.

To do any works without belief in Jesus Christ is wasted. Our works of righteousness are as filthy rags to him. Isaiah 64:6

Lets suppose it is possible for everyone to do good, for the sake of argument. When you do good in the service to God, is it not for your own benefit that you work because you hope to gain favor with God? Humans are greedy creatures.

Only acts done out of Love are not polluted with ulterior motives.

Today there are lot of wrong interpretation of scriptures and people say that there is no need of practically serving God by donation of money and working for HIM (Both are called as sacrifice). Thus people avoid practical service to God and give only theoretical service to God (prayers, singing songs etc). Now due to this real love on God is not formed. Everything remains only in theory and people approach God for business transaction of getting something in return only, they do not have any real love.

One shall work for God and should not lazy thinking that God do not require our help. The Lord does not need your service in anyway for His work. He is only testing your attitude of your sincerity in His work by taking help from you in His work. You should not think that He really needs your help. You should not also think that you need not help Him because He does not need your help. Both these are the two branches of ignorance. He is actually testing your extent of sacrifice towards Him and thus He does not need your help in reality. But based on this reality you should not withdraw your help to Him because He is testing your attitude and extent to work for Him.


When the examiner asks a question, the student should not think that the examiner is really ignorant about the answer and is in search of the answer from the student. The student should not also keep silent thinking that there is no need of giving answer to the examiner since the examiner knows the answer. Both these views of the student are wrong regarding the examiner. Neither Jesus needed the help of disciples in reality nor the disciples kept silent without helping Jesus since Jesus does not require any help in reality. The reality is that Jesus does not require any help and that the disciples helped Jesus to their best ability to prove their real interest in God.

You must not doubt that God can’t do His personal work and needs your help. Does He need any external help? We must understand that by limiting Himself to a normal human body, He is giving opportunity to devotees to serve Him even in His personal work to also test the devotee regarding His devotion diverted to God or welfare of world.


Therefore, I assuredly tell all of you that everything and every one of the devotee will be taken care of by God here and there, provided the devotee works for God keeping God above the world without aspiration for any fruit in return.
