The words "surely I come quickly" is glowing/brighter!
That's because it is a red letter edition

I know. Look carefully it is brighter than the rest of the red letters!
Perhaps you are being told to Receive Him? He Loves us to Receive Him at His Coming! He wants us to be in His Presence. I remember the first time I received Him at His Coming, it was more than a million atom bombs :)

Zeal should not be camouflaged behind magical thinking - it cheapens the magic.

Yes. You are correct. I have a question.

If they are with us and is in us... What's the point of "coming"?

To get us the hell out of here :)

I have a question; Its been 2000 years, what's God's idea of "quickly", (surely I come quickly)?
I suspect it just mean that his second coming will be quick in its occurrence, but not quick as in soon.

Just came to me...
What Jesus meant is when all these things had happened, he comes quickly.
Matthew 24:22 "And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened."

I have reasoned the same. It makes a nice wrapup to revelation. It gives hope for those looking forward to Jesus' return, and a warning to those that don't want him to return and Judge them. A warning to make right with God before they die and it is too late.

But an interesting thought crossed my mind that bares some research. Christ is called a quickening spirit elsewhere in scripture. So quickly could also describe how he comes. Perhaps that is implied by the verse, but the more practical meaning is concerning the speed of his return.

The point of them coming is that we have to accept them to be there first so they will be there.

If we don't accept life then Jesus will never come.
