2Co 12:1-5 are good verses to bring up…. because it shows the distinction between Paradise and the 3rd heaven. You're not quite right. We also know from scripture that Jesus Saud he'd be in paradise that very day that he made the promise to the thief on the cross and we also know that paradise is a specific place also the third heaven.
Luke 24:43
43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
2 Cor 12:3-5
Well, you're not quite right. Jesus was also in paradise that very day he made the promise to the thief and paradise is a very specific place in the heavens, the 3rd Heaven.
2 Cor 12:2-4
2I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. 3And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) 4How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
Luke 23:43
43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
Paradise, is a short word study in the Bible as it’s only used 3x. The verse in Luk 23:43 when Jesus spoke to the malefactor (not thief)…. this verse in 2Co 12:4 and in Rev 2:7
The only people who have seen Paradise (as of yet) is both Paul and John in a vision/revelation which Paul was not given permission to disclose (it was for his benefit) ….and of course Meatloaf saw it by the dashboard lights …but that may not be the same Paradise that the Bible is referring to.
Heaven is used over 550x and gives reference to 3 levels. Atmospheric, celestial, and the 3rd heaven where the Father, Jesus, and the angels reside. Heaven and paradise are not the same ….. Note what Rev 2:7 states, the location of Paradise is.
What you believe is up to you ….the Bible is clear …it’s religion that confounds the truth. Truth is proven by the Word of God ….. individual beliefs outside the Word … are just dust in the wind. It doesn’t matter whose they are …yours, mine, the Pope, or the preacher ….
The first three letter of conjecture are con, the first three letter of truth… are tru. (Jhn 17:17)
