This is Paul's Doctrine.......that is "" Justification by Faith".....without works and without water baptism.
James 2: 20-22
You fool! Do you want proof that faith without works is futile? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? Thus you can see that his faith and his works were active together; his faith brought to completion by works.

"The fool" is the person who reads James verse and does not understand that He's talking specifically about the fruit of Faith.. that are the works done, because of the Faith that is....>"faith is counted by GOD as (Christ's) Righteousness"...
James later explains....>>>"So, i'll show you my FAITH.........by my Works"..

That is not......."works are requried for Salvation" as the Heretics and their demonic Cults teach... James is simply explaining..." that because i have Faith....i will produce the WORKS that prove i have REAL Faith".
So, because Abrhams FAITH was REAL....he produced the work that Proved His faith was real.
He was already Justified by Faith.............and then the fruit of his faith, was a WORK.

The problem is you people seem to be unable to hold more than one concept in your minds at a time. No one believes that works saves them but neither does faith alone just like James points out. Will you be saved without faith? Absolutely not but faith alone is not sufficient for salvation. Again as shown by James.
Btw way I didn't call you a fool James did. James 2:20 James clearly believes if someone thinks faith without works is salvific then they're a fool. Not my words.

Faith is proven by works.........is what James is teaching........as if you have no works.......then you have "dead faith".

So, Faith, that God accepts, is "Justification by Faith".........and this is not based on your deeds......its based on Jesus's Sacrifice.
See, when a deceived person is trying to claim their works as a part of God's Salvation, then they are literally denying that Jesus is God's Salvation, alone.
So, you can continue to do that, @nedsk.........but, its not a good idea to try to prove that your works.. which are a "flithy rags" in God's perspective........should be combined with Holy Jesus and His Sinless Sacrifice.
See, when you try to put your Works up on The Cross with Jesus, to save yourself.... you are denying Him the FULL Credit for Salvation., you are denyig Him as Savior, based on HIS Sacrifice alone.
Not a good idea to do that.......and not a good idea to belong to a Cross Denying Cult that teaches this "works + The Cross" is Salvation, false Gospel.

Now, if you are not born again......if you've never trusted in Christ..........and you are trying to be like Christ, and trying to do the works of Christ, then you are a disciple, but you are not a Christian.........as a Christian is accepted by God based on "justification by Faith", in Christ........alone.
See, God only offers JESUS as our Salvation.......and our behavior, has nothing to do with it.
Consider that a lifetime SINNER, comes to God by Faith in Christ, and God saves them, because their "faith is counted by God, as (Christ's)righteouenss".....for them.
Now, did they do any works before that?
NO......as they were a lifetime sinner...... instantly saved because they Trusted in Christ.
So, now that they are Saved by God, based on their TRUST IN CHRIST = FAITH......then they will go out, and are supposed to produce good works that are the evidence that they have real Faith........exactly the same as Abram proved He had real faith by offering His son, as the proof of the Faith He had in God.

Faith alone is not sufficient as you have been shown. Had Abraham not offered to sacrifice his son, and he was free not to as we have free will, he would have had no righteousness. Works don't save. But neither will faith alone.

None of them say faith alone is sufficient for salvation. They say faith is necessary not sufficient. You folks do understand what sufficient means right? If faith alone is all thats needed for salvation then faith would sufficient but thats not what Scripture says.How about 100?

Yes and if your faith is empty of works you have no salvation. It's not an either or proposition. To say not by faith alone is NOT to suggest that works saves.
