1 Timothy 2:1-7
English Standard Version
Pray for All People
2 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man[a] Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time. 7 For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
James 1
New International Version
1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ,
To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations:
Greetings.
Trials and Temptations
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God,who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.
9 Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. 10 But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower. 11 For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.
Trust in the words of GOD . sin does hinder prayer .Thank you for your prayers.
I was aware when I made my comment that there are scriptures people use to back up the view that sin hinders prayers. However, I don't know of ANYONE that is completely sinless. Therefor there might be a misinterpretation of those verses. If it were possible to completely get sin out of your life, then there should be lots of Christians living a sinless life, and getting every prayer answered exactly the way they asked because they would always be walking in God's will.
JESUS IS . when or if a sin is made known to you , simply repent of it .Are you sinless?
Well , often folks forget what we must do. james did not teach just resist the devil and he will flee ,I have tried to confess and repent over and over and over and over and over and over and over again for years. It's like the old saying: "You can run but you can't hide". I was listening to the 10 Minute Bible Hour. The other day He talked about one of the sins I listed. The man's been around for a long time and still hasn't figured out how to handle that one particular sin. And that is probably true of lots of people.
If E = mc2 then we can divide and conclude that...You bring up some hard theology. Theology that people have beat each other over the head for generations. That's exactly why I put this in the prayer group! Because I'm not convinced that we can logically argue this out and come to a good conclusion. But you can pray that God will change hearts. And maybe through your prayers I'll make a change. But you can't argue me out of it, because I've been around too long and heard probably 90 percent of the arguments, and stuff. I find myself say, "yeah good point" "yeah good point" that's the way it goes. As it's been said, you can make the bible say whatever you want it too, by what scriptures you lean on the hardest. My first half of my life was in a Church that believed you could loose your salvation. My second half of my life was spent in a Church that didn't. I found myself straddling the fence between those two theologies. It didn't feel good! And it doesn't feel good now.
