Hello this is my first post
I have a question that has been weighing on my heart. I was baptized several years ago, but I recently learned that the pastor who baptized me was later convicted of sexually assaulting a minor. This has left me wondering whether my baptism is still valid in God's eyes or if I should be baptized again.
I understand that baptism is ultimately about my faith in Jesus Christ and my relationship with Him, but knowing what happened has caused me to struggle with this. I would appreciate any biblical guidance or advice you can offer.
Thank you for taking the time to read my email. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
God bless,
Fear not.
Here is a story.
I accepted Christ in Jan 1980. A few months later I was baptized "in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost". This all happened in a UPC church.
Years later I became convinced of the righteousness of the doctrines of IFB churches. My baptism is as valid now as it was then.
Just remember: Jesus never said "be baptized by the right guy who dots his I's and crosses his T's properly".
The failings of the baptizer do not affect the baptized. The event was about YOUR public profession of faith in Christ and not about who done it to ya.
