We aren't innocent. None of us. Which means there is more going on in the mind of God regarding how to fix that problem than is going on in your mind regarding how to fix God.

No one is innocent and I would also say there is no blanket answer to explain why God allows suffering. But He takes no pleasure in it. Sometimes it is done to chastise, sometimes it is to test, as with Job, or teach faith, perseverance and humility, sometimes it is to glorify God as with the risen Lazarus and the blind man in John 9:3.

I myself was diagnosed only this year with Parkinsons and I cant tell you how much that has weighed so heavily in me, wondering what I did, if I have offended Him somehow. But God keeps reminding me of Job as well as Paul who had some sort of physical disability to which Paul had prayed to have removed and yet God only answered him with My grace is sufficient unto thee
