I once read a poll conducted by a Christian website that indicated a surprising number of Christians are addicted to pornography. The poll results indicated that 50% of all Christian men and 20% of all Christian women are addicted to pornography. The people who struggle with the repeated pursuit of sexual gratification include church members and even clergy. No one is exempt! The struggle is real!
Now how many Christians (especially) men can honestly say, "whenever I am tempted to lust, I NEVER give in." I have 100% conquered that sin 100% of the time, no problem? If David, who was “a man after God’s own heart,” and other men and women of faith yielded to sexual temptation, it could happen to any of us. Researchers are finding that when people indulge in porn, a powerful chemical in their brain and body is released and there are a growing number of therapists and psychologists who are saying that this is as addictive as alcohol or cocaine or even heroin!
Due to our flesh, we will have to deal with the temptation to lust until we die, but that doesn't mean we have to continuously give into the temptation until we die. The temptation to lust comes in many forms including ungodly sexual appetites; and there are lusts, such as the lust of power, fame or position etc.. We must rely on the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome lust every day. No matter the form of lust we are tempted by, we need to remember that we have a High Priest and Advocate with the Father who understands our every weakness and was tempted in every way as we are, yet was without sin. (Hebrews 4:15; 1 John 2:1)
1 Corinthians 6:18 says to flee sexual immorality! We need to pour out our heart to Jesus for the power to abstain from sexual addiction. We can't simply suppress this sin in our own strength and merely conquer it in your own power. Apart from Jesus we can do nothing.

I don't have an addiction, but what if you're thinking about your spouse when you're masturbating? (And yes women can masturbate even though it's in different ways lol)

Actually, that does happen. People do weird things.
I think that's fine. :) Otherwise, it's probably actually abusive and against God. Especially if the person didn't agree to be objectified.

You're absolutely correct, Holy999. It's perverted, mechanical, lustful, disrespectful to the object of one's affection, misguided, and thus, invariably destroys character - it kills the spirit.
Christ said, even if you lust in your heart, it's a sin. Thoughts are extremely indicting and subversive.

Contain the fire like an x-men (sorry for the humor) or get married: 1 Corinthians 7:9 "But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn."
That passage might be referring to masturbation, but it isn't specific, in fact no scripture I have found yet directly addresses this natural compulsion to masturbate like animals do.
I've been watching daily mass (CatholicTV Mass | CatholicTV | All Day - Every Day) and now I find the temptation is gone. Perhaps what we need to be preaching is not to stop sinning, but instead go to daily church and serve God in the Holy Spirit for relief of temptation. I've felt the holy spirit on several occasions, and never once felt compelled sexually, to the opposite actually.

Leviticus 15:14-16. There are suggestions that verse is purely involuntary da-da-da-da but I think it's both voluntary and involuntary da-da-da-da.
And that's all I'm gonna say about that because it's probably inappropriate for women/men to discuss these things outside of marriage and none ya'll put a ring on it so..

Define "addiction". It means different things to different people.
Thanks, not talking about it because I know you're against that, but for relevance for anyone reading, when I looked up the definition of "copulate" in that scripture it said intercourse between a man and woman.
