For days in advance we see convoys of line trucks (Utility) headed south. There are 30 stage points where they gather, waitng for the storm to pass. The Biden visit was strictly for show. No one wanted him there at all. Even Democrats were not excited to see him ...Why?
The bridge to Pine Island is a prime example. In three short days, that bridge is open and taking traffic. Publix Grocery trucks delivering food to the store on the island.
This didn't take an environmental study, no native American studies, no impact studies, simply replace the bridge with a new one so that the home owners can go to work restoring their homes and businesses ......not one building permit cost is required right now ...In other word Biden and everyone else .....get out of the way, there is actual work to be done and accomplished.
Had the Federal Government been responsible for this .....FEMA would still be standing around trying to figure out what to do. This is tried and true examples of practices of reaction in the state of Florida .....It will not take "Years" to recover. Within a year .....you'll barely realize there was a hurricane that visited Fort Myers. Florida Emergency Management knows what works and what doesn't. At the end of each hurricane they gather and talk about what worked and what needs to be changed.......The absolute best Emergency Management system in the United States .....bar none.
It's so bad ...the media can't catch up and has a hard time milking this for all the bad news they can report ....Yesterday AP sent out a report that the Pine Island Bridge was still down ....then moments later had to report oops! It's back up and traffic flows with ease ....
