Are we born knowing what integrity, uprightness, and rectitude mean, or do we have to be taught that?Integrity and uprightness go together. So "rectitude" would be the best equivalent.
rectitude
rĕk′tĭ-too͞d″, -tyoo͞d″
noun
- Moral uprightness; righteousness.
- The quality or condition of being correct in judgment.
- The quality of being straight.
But he told us to repent now (Matthew 4:17).It is God who will remove your sin nature at the Resurrection/Rapture when He perfects the saints (1 John 3:1-3).
ha good point lolThe problem with this is that a person can be a jerk whether someone is looking or not, and I wouldn't call that integrity.
ha well i guess books could be written on that subject; and why Yah chose to givce us a left and a right brain, or to make us "two men in a bed," or even "Adam and Eve," man, i couldn't really say. Might be a lot harder to marry logic and emotions than it might seem? But what does it mean to be "whole and undivided"?
"Whole and undivided" would seem like a good thing, if we are wholly good. Otherwise ...ha well i guess books could be written on that subject; and why Yah chose to givce us a left and a right brain, or to make us "two men in a bed," or even "Adam and Eve," man, i couldn't really say. How do we define "truth"?

"random" is standing out to me, meaning that our "integrity" may not exactly be their tom/tammam, but i not that rabbis have a thing, "all three must agree," that prolly approaches the conceptI think we need to take the context into consideration, so I believe the Bible is referring to our behavior. What sort of behavior qualifies as "integrity"?
wholly "good?" i would consider that entirely subjective, and likely impossible, for us anyway"Whole and undivided" would seem like a good thing, if we are wholly good. Otherwise ...
I don't understand the "amendment" part.Repentance and amendment.
What is a "tom/tammam"?"random" is standing out to me, meaning that our "integrity" may not exactly be their tom/tammam, but i not that rabbis have a thing, "all three must agree," that prolly approaches the concept
But, we must be perfect as God is perfect. I think we'll get there, maybe sooner than later.wholly "good?" i would consider that entirely subjective, and likely impossible, for us anyway
Why do you call Me good? No one is good but God

Every human being has a conscience. See Romans 2.Are we born knowing what integrity, uprightness, and rectitude mean, or do we have to be taught that?
Right. Repentance is a total turning away from sins and idols. At the same time the sin nature is not eradicated. Therefore you are told to mortify" or crucify the "flesh".But he told us to repent now (Matthew 4:17).
And our conscience instructs us as we go along - we aren't born with the knowledge. That would be my take.Every human being has a conscience. See Romans 2.
And how does one "mortify" or "crucify" the flesh? (I believe 1stCenturyLady addressed this in an earlier post).Right. Repentance is a total turning away from sins and idols. At the same time the sin nature is not eradicated. Therefore you are told to mortify" or crucify the "flesh".
the root for what we are calling "integrity," links in my first responseWhat is a "tom/tammam"?
hmm little kids are there already, i guess? But, we must be perfect as God is perfect. I think we'll get there, maybe sooner than later.
I suppose our first sin is our first selfish act, whenever that happens. We have to learn to resist temptation - I don't think we are born with that knowledge.the root for what we are calling "integrity," links in my first response
also, it occurs to me that someone with "integrity" might easily be deemed a "jerk" by at least some?
