Integrity and uprightness go together. So "rectitude" would be the best equivalent.

rectitude
rĕk′tĭ-too͞d″, -tyoo͞d″
noun
  1. Moral uprightness; righteousness.
  2. The quality or condition of being correct in judgment.
  3. The quality of being straight.
Are we born knowing what integrity, uprightness, and rectitude mean, or do we have to be taught that?

But what does it mean to be "whole and undivided"?
ha well i guess books could be written on that subject; and why Yah chose to givce us a left and a right brain, or to make us "two men in a bed," or even "Adam and Eve," man, i couldn't really say. Might be a lot harder to marry logic and emotions than it might seem?

"Whole and undivided" would seem like a good thing, if we are wholly good. Otherwise ...

How do we define "truth"?

His Word, Jesus Christ.

How does one shed themselves of the sin nature?

Repentance and amendment.

Are we born knowing what integrity, uprightness, and rectitude mean, or do we have to be taught that?

At about age 7 every one knows right from wrong, because we ate from the Tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil. And so, it is passed down from generation to generation, which is why people who never knew the Way of Righteousness can be held accontable for their sin and go to hell, because they knew it was evil, without any need to be taught.

I think we need to take the context into consideration, so I believe the Bible is referring to our behavior. What sort of behavior qualifies as "integrity"?
"random" is standing out to me, meaning that our "integrity" may not exactly be their tom/tammam, but i not that rabbis have a thing, "all three must agree," that prolly approaches the concept

wholly "good?" i would consider that entirely subjective, and likely impossible, for us anyway
Why do you call Me good? No one is good but God
But, we must be perfect as God is perfect. I think we'll get there, maybe sooner than later.

How does one shed themselves of the sin nature?

There is no way, but to finally recognize that our own efforts to be good have no lasting effect. Mine lasted for only three days. There is only one way, and that is we need to confess by integrity of telling ourselves the truth, that we can do nothing in ourselves and need Jesus inside of us to be righteous for us. He places His grace inside of us, and grace is the divine power of God - not unmerited favor. Grace grows. If unmerited favor grew we would keep on sinning expecting grace to abound. But read Romans 6:15-16

amendment

If you rob someone, you can't just say you repent, you have to give the money back, giving the money back is making ammends:

Luke 19:8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

Ezekiel 33:15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.

Isaiah 1:17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

Exodus 22:1 If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.

Proverbs 6:31 But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.

But he told us to repent now (Matthew 4:17).
Right. Repentance is a total turning away from sins and idols. At the same time the sin nature is not eradicated. Therefore you are told to mortify" or crucify the "flesh".

And how does one "mortify" or "crucify" the flesh? (I believe 1stCenturyLady addressed this in an earlier post).

What is a "tom/tammam"?
the root for what we are calling "integrity," links in my first response

also, it occurs to me that someone with "integrity" might easily be deemed a "jerk" by at least some?

I suppose our first sin is our first selfish act, whenever that happens. We have to learn to resist temptation - I don't think we are born with that knowledge.

Certainly, if you are a person of integrity, you will have enemies, because you hinder the plans of prideful people.
