If you are Iranian, then you have to be concerned about the threat posed by America, a country that sponsored Saddam Hussein in his eight year war with Iran. And now America has invaded Iraq and Afghanistan which border Iran on two fronts. Surely you can understand why they feel threatened. If Iran invaded Mexico and Canada and was exporting war and making threatening overtures towards America, how would Americans feel? The U.N. is not in a position to calm them when they feel so threatened. Please explain why they should halt anyway. A country such as the U.S. which has more nuclear weapons than anyone else has no moral right to ask anyone to halt nuclear activity. Add to this America's track record of being the only country to actually use nuclear weapons in war and their propensity to invade foreign countries at will and you have to wonder why anyone would listen to America. All of their posturing and saber rattling only adds fuel to the argument that it is the U.S. that we need to worry about and not Iran. America has threatened to bomb Iraq and has kept open the possibility of using nuclear power against them. Iran has never made this threat against the U.S. or its allies. It is precisely this kind of arrogance that causes America to be resented around the world and has led to much of the unhappiness in the world. America is a target for terrorists for this reason. Contrary to what Americans are told by their leaders, they don't want to be like America. They just want to stop the interference in their internal affairs. Until America stops being a hypocrite and stops bullying there will never be peace. You need to set an example and be willing to live by the same standard you hold other countries to if you are to have the moral high ground.Something like 85% of the world sees the U.S. as the biggest threat to global peace by several independent polls, even Time Magazine's. This places them ahead of all countries including Iran, North Korea and China. That has to tell you something. If you were truly for peace then you would not use threats and intimidation. It is not working. Negotiation was working in Iraq. There were no WMDs. The war there has brought nothing but heartache and pain and it has served no useful purpose. What makes anybody think that more war is good for international peace?I am not pro-Iranian or anti-American. I am just tired of all the hypocrisy and hatred being spread with impunity and with all of the people who go along with it and help the war machine by spreading propaganda that could result in more war and bloodshed. We have seen and heard all of this before in the days that led up to the invasion of Iraq. Remember, Colin Powell waving his "proof" to the U.N. That's how much America's "proof" means. Nothing. Can we ever trust America again or the U.N. for that matter when it comes to such things?
