Do you believe that if we pray on behalf of others, helps in allowing God to intervene for others in this life, maybe situations, or uncontrollable circumstances?

Does prayer, on the behalf of these things to our Loving and living God, inviting God in, and it helps to have and perhaps cause a desired result if it is in accordance to his will?

And it helps to (if it is not part of Gods will) - can we ask God to help us accept if it doesn't come to fruition, to receive whatever may happen?
A letter written from Paul to Timothy to encourage him.

1 Timothy 2:1-7
English Standard Version

Pray for All People
2 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time. 7 For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

A letter written by Paul to encourage the people of Thessalonia.
1 Thessalonians 5:17-27
17 pray without ceasing,
18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
19 Do not quench the Spirit.
20 Do not despise prophecies.
21 Test all things; hold fast what is good.
22 Abstain from every form of evil.
23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.
25 Brethren, pray for us.
26 Greet all the brethren with a holy kiss.
27 I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read to all the holy brethren.

Im assuming you are referring to the prayers of a Christian, born again.

So, in that case,

God is not limited by lack of Prayer.
He's limited by lack of FAITH.

Jesus told us that when you pray BELIEVING, then you get your petition answered.

"without FAITH, its impossible to please God".

God is touched by our troubles, as we are His Children, if we are born again, and not just water baptized.
However, what moves God's solution into your PROBLEM, is your FAITH.

Reader,
Here is a very basic analogy.....
IN your house, or dwelling, you have electricity.
But, if you want that LIGHT to come on, you have to turn on the switch...
The POWER is always available, but until you turn on the switch, you will sit in the dark.
And so it is with PRAYERS being ANSWERED.
God's power to resolve your issue, is always there, but until you turn on the FAITH. ........

Thank you for sharing Behold.

The reason I am sharing this, is because when we do pray to the Father in Jesus name, and ask him to help us in this life it gets form to us being helped in this life.

Such as say you have a mean dad, or a mean mother and it is very hard to love them.

Praying to God to help you love them and forgiven them, allows God to work in our hearts and mind to be able to deal with the circumstances even if they may not Change through out the time of their life even unto their death.

Does that make sense? It is all by faith, or is it by active faith in having that open relationship with the Father.

Letting out all of our cares on him, worries, troubles, what is on our mind.

Say there is a person missing, we actively pray for them to be found hopefully alive, and through that prayer, God helps in the discovery. If not praying, what if the person is never founded?

Hope this helps you understand more of what I am trying to say.

Looking forward to anyone else who may have something they would like to share on their heart personally.

Thank you so much.

It is all by faith, or is it by active faith in having that open relationship with the Father.

If you are born again, then your relationship with the Father is eternally established.

So.....Yes, its all by faith.
Christianity is a "walk of Faith"
Everything with God is by Faith.
"Grace through faith" is Salvation.
" your faith is accepted by God", is why He saves you.
If you want to please God, then you give Him your faith.
Stepping out in faith is the beginning of your ministry call.
Being "justified by Faith" is God's 1st step of redemption.

In LUKE 8.... When the Apostles were afraid that their boat was going to capsize and sink, due to weather issues, = Jesus was asleep.
They woke Him up, as they were terrified.
He says to them...>"where is your FAITH".

And so, when we need a prayer answered.....= "where is your FAITH".

Saint, God knows all about your problem.
He knew you'd have it, before you were born... So, you dont need to keep asking him 34 more times..... or begging Him.
You need to put your FAITH in His Hands, and leave it there.

Thank you for your comments Behold you have established the message of faith, I agree with you about faith.

The active faith is where we are praying and asking God to help us in this life, and lifting up others to God on the behalf of ourselves - which is self sacrifice.

Such as Jesus and how he had prayed to His Father.

Jesus Prays in Gethsemane
36 Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I go over there and pray.” 37 And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38 Then he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me.” 39 And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.” 40 And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. And he said to Peter, “So, could you not watch with me one hour? 41 Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” 42 Again, for the second time, he went away and prayed, “My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, your will be done.” 43 And again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. 44 So, leaving them again, he went away and prayed for the third time, saying the same words again. 45 Then he came to the disciples and said to them, “Sleep and take your rest later on. See, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. 46 Rise, let us be going; see, my betrayer is at hand.”

Hoping to hear from others too.

You are still trying to get your prayers answered by ASKING.
And that is not the way.
You get your prayers answered by BELIEVING God will do it.

Asking is not Faith.
BELIEVING, is Faith.

Lack of Faith and Righteousness both keep God from hearing or answering prayers.

God hears the prayers of the Righteous.
Proverbs 15:29
He doesn't even listen to the prayers of sinners.
John 9:31

Thank you for your insights, Gen2Rev.

To anyone else who may come by would like to share this with you too as I believe prayer such an important connection we have personally with the Living God of Israel through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

I do believe when praying,

Even though we are all sinners (and do still tend to fail in life sometimes like the old prophets, or like Peter who denied Jesus, or whoever you can think of in the Bible like Rahab, or David,) saved by grace through faith.

Pray should be done in accordance to Gods will, like Jesus was praying, to pray for His Will to be done, and also how Paul encourages Timothy that we should pray on behalf of others.

To pray in edifying and thankfulness towards God to be with our friends, and family, strangers we barely know, for their wellness in being kept safe from harm in travels, or perhaps maybe a sickness can be found and help cure someone that went to the doctor though sometimes if God doesn’t heal us, we should be thankful he has given us still a wonderful new gift of life in Christ Jesus!

God cares about our worries, and problems, and when we are having anxiety we can ask God to help us by the Holy Spirit, and the spirit of Christ within you!

Luke 11:13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

The new living translation is a Bible translation that is meant to be read out loud.

Here is an interesting happening to Peter when he was in prison and the assembly (church) at that time prayed for Peter to be released as he did nothing wrong, James the apostle (John’s brother) was killed with a sword and it pleased the Jewish people that King Herod had ordered it to be done.

“About that time King Herod Agrippa began to persecute some believers in the church. He had the apostle James (John’s brother) killed with a sword. When Herod saw how much this pleased the Jewish people, he also arrested Peter. (This took place during the Passover celebration.)

Then he imprisoned him, placing him under the guard of four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring Peter out for public trial after the Passover.

But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him.

The night before Peter was to be placed on trial, he was asleep, fastened with two chains between two soldiers.

Others stood guard at the prison gate. Suddenly, there was a bright light in the cell, and an angel of the Lord stood before Peter.

The angel struck him on the side to awaken him and said, “Quick! Get up!” And the chains fell off his wrists.

Then the angel told him, “Get dressed and put on your sandals.” And he did. “Now put on your coat and follow me,” the angel ordered.

So Peter left the cell, following the angel. But all the time he thought it was a vision.

He didn’t realize it was actually happening. They passed the first and second guard posts and came to the iron gate leading to the city, and this opened for them all by itself.

So they passed through and started walking down the street, and then the angel suddenly left him.

Peter finally came to his senses. “It’s really true!” he said. “The Lord has sent his angel and saved me from Herod and from what the Jewish leaders had planned to do to me!””

Even though we are all sinners
Everyone who believes that, like you and so many others, has accepted, and embraced, daily habitual sin.

Those who do as the Bible teaches, and strive to avoid all sin, are not 'sinners.' They have ceased from habitual, intentional, sin.

God pays no attention whatsoever to the prayers of 'sinners.'
John 9:31
He hears only those who strive for righteousness.
Proverbs 15:29

And that's not, as you love to say, my insights or my opinions/perspectives. That is God Almighty's Words. This post is God speaking, Matthew. It can 100% be aligned with Scripture.

Since Christ is God we can pray to Him. Amen

John 14:14
14 "If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.

Acts 1:24-26
And they prayed and said, "You, Lord, who know the hearts of all men, show which one of these two You have chosen 25to occupy this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place." 26And they drew lots for them, and the lot fell to Matthias; and he was added to the eleven apostles

Acts 7:55-60
5 But being full of the Holy Spirit, he gazed intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God; 56and he said, "Behold, I see the heavens opened up and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God." 57But they cried out with a loud voice, and covered their ears and rushed at him with one impulse. 58When they had driven him out of the city, they began stoning him; and the witnesses laid aside their robes at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59They went on stoning Stephen as he called on the Lord and said, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!" 60Then falling on his knees, he cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them!" Having said this, he fell asleep.

Acts 8:22
"Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray the Lord that, if possible, the intention of your heart may be forgiven you

1 Corinthians 1:1-2
Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,

2 To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ—their Lord and ours:

2 Corinthians 12:8-10
8 Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me. 9And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. 10Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

James 1:1-8
James, a bond-servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ,
To the twelve tribes who are dispersed abroad: Greetings.
2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. 7For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord,8being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

1 John 5:14-15
14 This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.

We are to die to sin, but it still comes up from time to time.

Pray and watch so that you are not lead into temptation.

Another way of saying it might be: Assuming God loves the people we pray for more than we love them, is it necessary to pray for them? But then, God loves us, too, so certainly he accommodates our prayers as best he can.

Hello Bob Estey,

Prayer is one of the purest forms of communications we have with God through grace by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

A prayer by Job.

Job’s Repentance and Restoration

42 Then Job answered the Lord and said:

2 “I know that You can do everything,
And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.
3 You asked, ‘Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?’
Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand,
Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.
4 Listen, please, and let me speak;
You said, ‘I will question you, and you shall answer Me.’

5 “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear,
But now my eye sees You.
6 Therefore I abhor myself,
And repent in dust and ashes.”

A prayer by Paul to have the thorn taken out of his side.
2 Corinthians 12:8-10
New Living Translation

8 Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. 9 Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 10 That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
