@Michiah-Imla I reckon the doctrinal aspect is the most important.

I think the tattoo analogy may be signidicant: a tattoo signifying military service or referring to John 3.16 is vastly different from one of the virgin Mary, with all that this implies....

Yes, one time in the spirit God said he would put a tattoo for God on my other shoulder. But I have trouble sometimes knowing which spirit is which spirit so I just forgot about that.

@devin553344 Well, shoulder is a sought after placement (I guess it was in view because presumably it means you already had your military related tattoo on the other shoulder...).

Pendants and tattoos are distinct, of course, but in a sense the idea is similar.

Yes and I don't wear a cross either. Since the cross is a sign of Christ's death. And his sacrifice is for him to bear and wear, not me, I'm not worthy.

@devin553344 It is sometimes commented by Protestants that the symbol of the cross without the figure is so significant that it is empty now: "It is finished"; "He is risen".

Sometimes people prefer the Christian fish sign <>< - e.g., on a wrist, etc. - instead, as a tattoo.

@Marc94 ...AJ has my words on the subject....I would go with her post...clear cut me..I've see many wearing this saint and that saint and fancy crosses...who are they really serving is my question to them inside of me...now your folks, if Catholic might argue with you of course, especially if they gave you the pendent. If you decide to not wear it then keep it cool without fuss and hope it fades to the background, to avoid family spats really over nothing, if this scenario becomes a reality..

That is "sacramental" and the Christopher medal acts like a good luck charm, but has no sacramental value. The Catholic Church has patron saints from almost all activities, and Catholic travelers asked "Saint Christopher" to protect them while traveling. "Saint Christopher, pray for us" is on the medallion.

Not advisable thus to imply agreement with the unScriptural doctrine....

Lk 1:48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.

Scripture demands that call Mary blessed!

To do so would be to honor Mary!

To do so is to praise Mary!

To do so is to venerate Mary!

All Christians must say with the angels; “Hail Mary” ever blessed!

to do so would be biblical!

    Christ in Christopher,

It is only by the Grace of God that any of us can overcome. Recognizing the Grace of God poured out on our brethen glorifies God!

The prayers of a righteous man are powerful indeed

    Christ is risen!
    Alleluia!

Most people who wear St Christopher medals do so for superstitious reasons. It's a way of claiming the saint's protection while travelling.
The issue is - if we know Jesus and have God's angels to guard us, why should we need "St Christopher" as well? Especially since dead believers, however devout and holy, don't have any power to influence what happens in this world.

    Hi Marc,

Everything is lawful," but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is lawful," but not everything builds up.

To be one with the body of Christ is to be catholic by definition.

It's ok depending on your reasons for wearing it.

Superstitious reasons would not be ok.

To remind you to think about how St. Christopher glorified Christ by his life and death..

To encourage you and spur you on to greater holiness in your own walk..

    These are good reasons..

    Christ is risen!
    Alleluia!

@Marc94 I guess some ppl could wonder if you are supposedly relying on St Christopher.

The fact that a pendant of some variety is worn ought not to be problematic. Like, have you pierced your ears? it's simply a personal preference.
