Supreme Court Suit Against Transfer of Russian Compound by Hillel Fendel(IsraelNN.com) The Land of Israel Legal Forum has filed a suit in the Supreme Court against Sunday's Cabinet decision to transfer parts of a downtown Jerusalem complex to Russia. The area in question is part of the area known as the Russian Compound, very close to the Jerusalem Municipality, and Prime Minister Ehud Olmert plans to bestow the gift to the Russians during his state visit to the country this week."If the complex truly belonged to Russia, the Russians would have taken legal action themselves," said Forum Chairman Nechi Eyal. He granted an interview on the matter to Arutz-7's Hebrew newsmagazine on Sunday."Our main claim," Eyal said, "is that this government is a lame-duck government which has no authority to make significant and irreversible decisions." The government is currently headed by Ehud Olmert, but only until such time as Prime Minister-designate Tzipi Livni forms a new government. If she does not succeed in doing so, new elections are likely to be held."Not long ago," Eyal said, "the Supreme Court Chief Justice said that a transient government is not even allowed to appoint judges - and in fact, the appointment did not go through. This is because a transient government is for the purpose of maintaining the status quo, and not more than that."Eyal has asked Attorney General Menachem Mazuz to clarify this matter to the government, and in fact Mazuz did so. He wrote a letter to the Cabinet ministers, explaining that they must be restrained in using their authorities during this period. "Yet despite this," Eyal said, "this government has now taken the dramatic move of giving over a prime piece of real estate in the center of Jerusalem to the Russians.""The fact that the Russians themselves did not take legal action to acquire the property is proof that this decision by the Israeli government has no legal basis," Eyal insists.

It sounds like the Isreali courts have made a power grab. Can you imagine if the US Supreme Court told President Ford that he's not allowed to do anything the court doesn't like until a new election? Ehud Olmert, the legitimate leader, and the Israeli cabinet, want to do the decent thing and give Russia the deed to the Russian church property (it was Russian property before Israel existed). Russia has already given 90% of the property to Israel (for a bunch of oranges). and, it has been the intent for decades of the Israeli government to give Russia the property rights to the remaining land (the church itself), so it's not like Olmert is changing course or doing something radical.Actually, Olmert isn't motivated so much by decency as in wanting to gain influence with Russia in regard to Iran and Syria. There's a lot of antichristians in Israel and those people don't want to let the Israeli government give up legal claim on the Russian church.

It's a done deal! The Russian Church now has has the deed for the land it has owned since before Israel was a country. There are other churches which own land but Israel refuses to provide the deeds.

reguardless of civil Laws God gave the Land of Israel to the Jews and whether they give it away or its taken God does not like his enemies claiming to own Gods Land. And he will see to it that anyone giving it away or taking it pays.

That is a big Amen
A big Amen to what? That the church has been given the deed for its own land or that God doesn't want churches in the middle-east?

A big Amen to what Christina says. It will come to a big price when selling God's land. It is for Israel... to the Jews...

So, you think God opposes Churches in the middle-east. That is wrong on so many levels.
