Your passages are about different things, and make slightly different points than what you are suggesting in the title. There is one that is especially relevant (2 Corinthians 12), but the Philippians passage is about not disputing with governmental authorities, and the above passages all deal with the issue of avoiding giving a voice to those speaking rank heresy, but shun them instead.

I sometimes have to do this with people if I think the particular person and what they are teaching warrants it. But now, when you are talking about genuine believers debating over scripture, that is another matter, and we are actually required by God to hash out truth from falsehood amongst one another. You quoted 2 Corinthians as your opening passage, and this is where he was actually discussing doctrinal debate among genuine believers. Certainly, to get into divisiveness is a sin, and if you look at the following passage from 1st Corinthians you see that division is exactly what Satan was trying to accomplish among them so that a church would not work through their issues but let them destroy them. But Paul's advice on this was to continue meeting as a body and work through things, and let those with the greater spiritual authority among them emerge:

17 Now in giving these instructions I do not praise you, since you come together not for the better but for the worse. 18 For first of all, when you come together as a church, I hear that there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it. 19 For there must also be factions among you, that those who are approved may be recognized among you. 20 Therefore when you come together in one place, it is not to eat the Lord’s Supper. 21 For in eating, each one takes his own supper ahead of others; and one is hungry and another is drunk. 22 What! Do you not have houses to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God and shame those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you in this? I do not praise you.

And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.

But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.

And so, we see that there is a difference between disputing in the Scriptures, and vain arguments. Only such churches as that of Nimrod at Babel, of the Holy See of Christendom, forbids any disagreement over 'accepted' doctrine.

Good disputes about the things of God are in two ways:
1. When it is from Scripture that things are disputed. Arguing abut personal opinions is foolish.

2. When after a couple of Scriptures, it is clear there are two opposing sides in a certain teaching, then there will be nothing but a useless and endless debate, no matter what Scripture is addressed.

Examples: Jesus Christ is the true God vs a created christ, that is not God. Man is born with sin nature vs man only becomes a sinner by sinning. Salvation by faith alone vs justification by works of faith, Etc...

What happens is there are two opposing teachings that will read every Scripture from that view, so that every Scripture will be read and interpreted differently.

It is rare that a well-studied Christian holding to a particularly teaching, is persuaded away from it, by the opposing side.

The instruction of Scripture to move on after one or two admonitions, is for both sides. Afterall, as far as one is concerned, the other is a heretic.

Heresy is not just about believing Jesus is the Christ, but can be any opposing teaching in the doctrine of Christ. And only a few of them really matter pertaining to the salvation and justification of the believer.

As a staffer on the Billy Graham Crusades, I've dealt with much disputes. Amongst them are bible study groups; many of the them. That said, most do not understand what they read. Face it, not everyone has had the opportunity to study theology at a University. But nobody ever was angry.
Proverbs 27:17 - As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. Yes, a little patience and all came away a little wiser. Some background knowledge, and additional scriptures solved all disputes and an agreement to disagree sometime. A bible and a commentary fixes most squabbles.

Sharing in a civil manner is preferred and like the person said above me not everyone has been able to go a university. To me it’s good to get a Bible but also have something to help along the way, mainly the spirit but commentary though some have their own way of looking can be of help.

I didn't mean to infer that a degree is necessary. I meant to study at a higher learning facility. There are bible study courses online to focus on in-depth learning. I've done that all my life. I didn't stop after graduating from Liberty U.; I kept on studying. I am a retired minister and I have taught bible studies and am well acquainted with lack of knowledge on Hebrew weddings at the time of Jesus, that Jesus told parables about or how about the plagues of Exodus meaning. What did Tychicus do for The Apostle Paul? My point is when standing as teacher in front of God and the class, you have a responsibility to teach correct doctrine.

Hi @Rockerduck Romans 14 does imply strongly that believers will have all sorts of different perspectives on things as they search the Scriptures. This does imply peaceful discussion at times.
