I saw this in another thread. Someone was saying that Jesus is the same yesterday today and tomorrow. But that didn't sound correct to me. If I understand scripture correctly. He was the word and created all things. Then was the baby Jesus of Mary and Joseph's house. Then grew to adulthood. Died on the cross and went to spirit prison to preach. Then was resurrected and now intercedes for us with the Father, which is something that required to the atonement to be completed. He is now glorified in the Throne of God.

Or did I miss something?

Jesus is called the Word Dev, but it was through him that all things were created, with the exception of himself of course. He was God's first begotten son, the beginning of the creation of God.

Yes I believe I said that in the OP. The point I'm making is that he was glorified for the atonement after he was risen. Things changed because of the atonement.

John 17:4-6

New King James Version

4 I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.

Jesus was the living Word....but God was/is the creator.
That error comes from Ephesians due to a transcribed addition

Eph 3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

The words by Jesus Christ are omitted in all critical Greek text.

Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

This needs to be kept in it’s proper context…..Here dealing with Faith (the right way of believing) and being spoken to the Christian Jews of the dispersion. It’s not addressed to the church in the sense that we know the Church established on Pentecost. It is addressed to born again believers, but those who have never walked in the freedom of the new birth……. those who are still zealous for the law.

His accomplishments and what was made available…do not change.

I think it means as far as his principles. But you are right, I believe he is on the throne with his father now today as the Lord God Almighty, Devin.

Sounds RIGHT to me!

That above verse is about Jesus as God The Son. That NEVER changed. Even Matthew 1:23 asserts His Name "Emmanuel" which means "God with us". That... is how the above verse is meant. It is about His Spirit, as He was still God even while in the flesh.

So I don't know where some folks get these crazy ideas about Jesus' flesh to mean that His Spirit stopped being God.
