I absolutely do know that very thing for I gave known he is with me 24/7 especially since my husband died on Sept 6th.
He has given me courage and strengthened me. Today I have been sorting out funeral details and designing the leaflet to be given out to those who come. I won't call them mourners, for I myself am not mourning, although some will be because they don't have that wonderful hope that belonging to Jesus gives us.

This is my testimony. I asked God for a word and he he gave me https://www.odb.org.uk/2024/09/07/step-out-in-faith as my daily devotional. Stepping out into the unknown with faith and courage.

Although I love my lovely Ray I know this is a new phase in my life. God hasn't finished with me and now I feel free to do whatever he asks of me.

My sympathy to you, Pearl. Four years ago this coming November, my wife died suddenly after 56 years of our marriage. You are on my prayer list.

“I will have nothing to do with a God who cares only occasionally. I need a God who is with us always, everywhere, in the deepest depths as well as the highest heights. It is when things go wrong, when good things do not happen, when our prayers seem to have been lost, that God is most present. We do not need the sheltering wings when things go smoothly. We are closest to God in the darkness, stumbling along blindly.”
― Madeleine L'Engle

We had Ray's funeral today. it was mostly a DIY affair planned and organised by myself and my three children. They chose the music and shared their memories of Ray. one of my granddaughters read the poem we had chosen and I spoke about who he had been to me. At the end we all laid roses on the coffin. It was personal and informal and although we had prayers and bible readings it wasn't overly 'religious'. My friend of 40 years led the 'service' and also spoke about Ray. And I also mentioned that Ray would have loved that the last three numbers on his death certificate were 007.

I designed and made the 'order of service' leaflets and included a picture of Ray's baptism to show he loved Jesus without being 'preachy' and was pleased when people asked me about it - which was my intention. Afterwards we all went to Ray's favourite chippy for a meal. Everybody said how lovely it was.

I pray that God will comfort you and your loved ones in your loss. And I pray that God will bring good out of Ray's death--spiritual growth for the Christians and salvation for the unbelievers.

And undoubtedly we're both feeling the effects of old age.
What a wonderful Home awaits the sheep at the end of our faith .
Till that day march onwards in the glorious LORD my friend .
Not many even make it to eighty . But even in old age the LORD is with the sheep of HIS pasture .
And as it is written makes our bed in all our afflictions and sickness . He is our hope and our salvation my friend .
Hit the trenches my friend , your never too old to do the work of the glorious LORD .
As you well know my friend . Its just wonderful good to point too the glorious LORD and to remind
all of the dire need to beleive on Christ JESUS , while there still be time to do so .
One day all the sheep will be HOME forever with the KING who has saved us . What a lovely thought that is my friend .

You're right, Christian friend. When I retired from being a pastor 16 years ago, God gave me the ministry of being a published author and has added an online ministry more recently. I eagerly look forward to my life in the new universe with Jesus and all his saints but really enjoy him in the gifts he has given me, especially his spiritual gift of creativity through writing.
