    John 3:16,

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

There is a few very keystone scriptures in your bible that will open all of your bible up to you. Our text scripture is one, and in John 3:3,

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

    Galatians 1:11-12,

11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

    Galatians 1:15-16,

15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,
16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

These verses at a glance are very familiar to the avid bible student. We have heard John 3:16 quoted probably more than any other verse. What should be pointed out is; these verses are loaded with information. The student must glean and reglean to get the information that is coming from them. Of coarse it is with the help of your teacher the HolySpirit. There are some verses such as these that you can not get revelation on and then walk away thinking that is all there is in them.

It may be that in time there might be a word or term in that verse the HolySpirit uses to open your understanding and further your knowledge of something particular. John 3:3 for instance lets you know that without a birthing taking place, there is no salvation, that needs to be looked at until your eyeballs fall out because it will be your number one truth to moving in God spiritually.
Proper understanding of this verse cuts through doctrine, dogma, many hair splits and so forth. You will not have to prove anything you just simply move on in your understanding, this is not a matter of who is right or wrong. What did paul say when he had a revelation of the indwelling Christ in him "immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood." There will be those around to confirm to you on what you are seeing, you just move on.

Galatians 1:11-12, Paul certifies the gospel that was given to him was not TAUGHT to him "but by the revelation of Jesus Christ." So now what you do is look at exactly what this verse says, Paul's gospel was a person, and the way that gospel comes about is by Jesus Christ revealed in you. "The revelation of Jesus Christ" Paul tells us point blank "when it pleased God (the element of time, Gal. 4:1-2 comes into effect) to reveal his son IN ME. Read and reread, look at those verses like you have never looked at them before they are loaded.

    Other verses to look at:

    Romans 8:1
    Ephesians 1:4
    2 Peter 1:4
    Ephesians 1:17-18
    Ephesians 3:1-5
    Colossians 1:27
    Colossians 2:10

    Like to add . . .
    1 Corinthians 1
    27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

    Much love!

    Great verse list!

We need to read these passages over and over and over until we know them by heart, and can meditate on them, and as you say, allow the Holy Spirit to use those words to build His life into us. These truly are words of life!

There is a simplicity to the Gospel! The wise of this world seem to want to make it more complicated...

We need to just let go of trying to fix ourselves, and when it pleases God to reveal Himself in us, Yes!

I've found the one real obstacle to my sanctification is believing that God has already made it so. When I forget that, that's when the flesh asserts itself.

That's why I love so much @soul man 's verse list, is that these all speak so strongly of God's work in us, and how we receive from Him, purely by faith, purely from Him.

His gifts are ours for the asking, for the believing, but never by any amount of working trying to buy His favor.

Nice to share today with you!

    Much love!

Such a blessing to read this morning. God is alive and well in you and the fruit of that relationship is a pleasure to feast on.

Christ in us our Hope of Glory and the revelation of Him in us. Such a awesome truth that can, (I believe), never be understood totally.

Be blessed in Christ, Not me

Such a pleasure to read all your comments, with no one-up-manship, not demanding to be right, or demanding your own way. Just looking for the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Knowing and seeing God at work in lives, a blessing indeed.

At present we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face. At present I know partially; then I shall know fully, as I am fully known.

So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love
    .

    Peace be with you!

For the naysayers who deny the eternal security of the believer, this bombshell from God should be enough to totally demolish their false ideas.

These are actually the words of Christ Himself (as spoken throughout from verses 3 through 21 and quoted by John via divine inspiration since John was not present). Christ (who is God) is telling is what God the Father has done in and through the only begotten Son (not "only" Son which changes the meaning altogether).

So why are genuine children of God eternally secure in their salvation as presented in John 3:16?

    "For God..."
    1. It is the Lord God Almighty, the one true and only God, the Father, who GAVE His Son as a gift to the whole world. This is a tremendous truth, when the majority of humans worship false gods and idols and hope to earn their way to Heaven by their good deeds.

    "...so loved the world..."
    2. The reason that He gave His only begotten Son to become the propitiation for the sins of the whole world is because God SO LOVED the world. "So" means "so greatly and so dearly". Try as we might, we can never fathom why God would so greatly love the world (which was and is at enmity with God). But we can understand this in view of the fact that He created the Lake of Fire for the devil and his angels, not for human beings (with whom He desired to have fellowship). And God is not willing that any should perish (be damned for eternity) but that all should come to repentance.

    ...that He gave..."
    3. This is the first *key* to eternal security. God Himself took the initiative and gave mankind the GIFT of His Son. He was under no compulsion or obligation to do so. He could have wiped out the human race and started from scratch. Instead He saved Noah and his family and all of humanity descended from Noah. But Jesus of Nazareth would also be a descendant of Shem (one of Noah's sons) and a seed or descendant of Abraham.

    ...His only begotten Son..."
    4. Jesus of Nazareth did NOT become the only begotten Son at His birth in Bethlehem (as some falsely teach). "Only begotten" means UNIQUELY BEGOTTEN (Gk monogenes) which speaks of an ETERNAL Father-Son relationship within the Godhead (with no mother involved). But Jesus is BOTH the Son of God as well as God the Word. He called Himself "I AM THAT I AM" or "I AM". So those who deny the deity of Christ cannot be saved. Either God (as sinless Man) died on the cross for our sins, or there is no redemption through His blood.

    "...that whosoever..."
    5. God already knew that the Calvinists and naysayers would deny that "whosoever" means ANYONE AND EVERYONE. Therefore Jesus repeated "whosoever" twice in this passage and then again in other Scriptures. Why whosoever? (1) Because all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, (2) all are guilty before God, (3) all need to be saved, and (4) Christ died for all mankind. Anyone who denies this denies the true Gospel of God.

    "...believeth in (on) Him..."
    6. The first condition upon which salvation is based is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. So what does it mean to believe in or on Him? (1) To believe the record that God has given to us concerning His Son in the Bible, (2) to believe that JESUS IS GOD, not a mere man, (3) that Christ died for my sins on the cross and paid the penalty for my sins in full, (4) that because of this I must turn from my sins and idols completely (repent, the second condition of salvation) and forsake them, (5) that I must turn to Christ by faith and receive Him as both Lord (total surrender) and Savior (total devotion), and (6) that I must open the door of my heart and soul and invite Him to take charge of my life, forgive my sins, wash away my sins and guilt, and give me the GIFT of eternal life. Not because I deserve it but purely because of the grace of God and the finished work of Christ.

    "...should not perish.."
    7. "Should not perish" does NOT means should not be annihilated, or evaporated, or exterminated. What is does mean is should not face eternal damnation in the Lake of Fire. So those who genuinely believe on the Lord Jesus Christ receive the GIFT of eternal life and will NEVER face eternal damnation. This is the second *key* to eternal security. Those who believe become children of God and sheep of Christ the Good and Great Shepherd. Therefore He cannot and will not lose a single one of His sheep. This is the meaning of the eternal security of the believer, not the so-called OSAS which is mocked by the naysayers because some believe that grace is a license to sin.

    "...but have everlasting life."
    8. This phrase is critical. It is in the present tense, and that is why Peter said to the Jews on the day of Pentecost that if they would repent, they would receive THE GIFT of the Holy Ghost. That is the baptism WITH the Holy Spirit which only Christ can administer supernaturally. This in turn produces the New Birth, and everything else that accompanies salvation. So this is the third *key* to eternal security. Those who believe are born from above, born of God, born of the Spirit, born again, regenerated and renewed to become new creatures in Christ. And everalsting life is the same as eternal life which is the same as Christ in you the hope of glory, since Jesus said that He Himself is the Resurrection and the Life. Salvation is A DIVINE PERSON, not just a phenomenon, or a set of keys that can be lost.

Well, exactly. "The Gospel in a nutshell", so to speak - although there is huge scope for expounding it.
