Believe it or not dude? I "was" such a skeptic AS you are at this present time in your "Pilgrimage!" Seeking, asking, and yes? Much like that which you are doing? "DEMANDING Authoritative Understanding!"If you need to work that hard to explain away what is clearly written then you need to examine why. I'll challenge you like I've challenged the others who have failed miserably btw, show evidence that your understanding of Scripture is the authoritative understanding.
And? Much like that which you are so embraced in? Which is very much "like" the Disciple of Christ; Thomas?
Would "accept" nothing short of Miracles!
Such as healing the sick, making those blind see, the casting of demons etc.!
Because I "believe" nedsk, deep down in your heart and spirit (the "flesh mind" being the greater enemy in this pilgrimage), that "you sense" there is much more to "Christianity" than "that which is proceeding from the pulpits! (=Churchianity)"
To which I define churchianity as "milk eaters converting those deemed lost, and teaching them to become ONLY milk eaters", which is alright, as far as that goes (except for the ONLY part). And THIS is where "churchianitists" start their "compromising" by making the (truly) righteous sad, while..........Well? All's I am doing is paraphrasing what Jehovah dictated to the Prophet Ezekiel here:
Ezekiel 13: (KJV)
21 Your kerchiefs also will I tear, and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
22 Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:
Anyway, there comes a time, and SHALL BE a time (to come) when "those/these" of that which is of "common salvation" SHALL be "confronted" with the dictation that Jehovah had the Prophet Isaiah write/record:
Isaiah 28: (KJV)
17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
19 From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.
I don't know that which needs be done/overcome by you. (1 Peter 2:5)
But by your "pressing on to the High Calling of God in (through) Christ?
Some day? Some time? When you "LEAST" EXPECT IT?"
Someone will come into you: smile, and say something to the effect:
"WELCOME TO FOREVER LAND!"
Now? As the cliche goes?:
The proverbial ball is in YOUR court!
I CAN tell you this also!
The ONLY thing you'll want Him to do?
Is STOP!
