And that is very unfortunate. He has no excuse for such false teaching. At the same time, this is stated on his website: The Lord commands us to evangelize all people and nations by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe that this is the obligation of every follower of Jesus Christ. So we have a discrepancy.

Getting back to the relationship of evangelical Christians to Israel, we need to be aware of several things:

1. While the establishment of the nation-state of Israel was a fulfillment of prophecies concerning Israel, those who established it had no use for either the concept of Messiah, or the Lord Jesus Christ as their true Messiah. Zionism was purely secular.

2. Christians cannot support Muslims who desire to eradicate Israel, but they cannot get too involved with supporting Israel either, other than voting for politicians in America and Canada who are willing to stand with Israel against its enemies. And of course Christians cannot encourage any form of anti-Semitism or hatred of Jews simply because they are Jews.

3. During the Church age, unbelieving Jews have been judicially blinded, but at the same time believing Jews (Messianics) are reaching out to them and bringing them to Christ. That is an effort which can certainly be supported materially and in prayer (even though Messianics segregate themselves from Gentile Christians and seek to promote Torah observance).

4. Israel discourages Christian missionaries from what they call *proselytizing*, so in fact the state is hostile to Christianity. According to one source, there have never been any Christian evangelistic rallies in Israel. The Voice of the Martyrs regards Israel as hostile to Christianity.

5. Evidently Arab and Jewish Christians in Israel are persecuted and harassed. So for Christians to vocally support this nation-state which is hostile to Christ and Christians seems to be counter-productive.
