I honestly have no idea why you are writing AS IF your delicate sensibilities are offended at the thought that a Christian in America might stand up for their country, their country's traditions and institutions and do so on a holiday set aside for this very purpose AS THOUGH that is in any way less than noble, righteous and honorable in the extreme. The honored dead cannot speak for themselves. Americans speak for them this Memorial Day. Please stick to religion and stay out of American politics.

Difficult questions we need to answer for ourselves.....like, why didn't God destroy Lucifer at the outset?....wouldn't the whole mess of slaughter have been avoided?

If we care to look or have courage to explore a little deeper than the way human logic assembles things a view emerges of breathtaking beauty, of mercy and forgiveness. So long as we justify the principle of retaliation in our hearts, so long will our spiritual eyes be dimmed and our logic be no different from that of the world's.

I wouldn't call it retaliation so much as JUSTICE.
There has to be consequences for doing bad things.

Why didn't God destroy Lucifer?
He was a necessary tool in our education.
To teach us the difference between good and bad fruit.
To learn to choose the good and resist the evil.

We don't like it when bad things happen to us,
and God don't like it when we disregard Him.
In a way, we get to experience what God feels when we are disobedient or mean towards him.
Lucifer teaches us empathy, patience, the lessons we don't necessarily want to learn but need to in order to be perfected.
Even though he means it for harm, God means it for good.

That don't mean we don't call out evil when we recognize it. On the contrary, we shed light on it and expose it for what it is.
I wouldn't call that retaliation. I would call it bringing darkness to light.
