I can remember reading National Geographic as a child about Killer Bees. They were still in South America and it sounded unbelievable that they would eventually arrive in the USA.

I’d forgotten about killer bees until you just reminded me!! I’d heard about them coming to the USA when I was a child and it scared me. Thanks for sharing the video. My take away is the Dawn dish soap. Of course I’m sad for her horses. I wish there was time to help them.

We've had some Killer Bee attacks or hives found in Southern California. I'm not sure how far North they have gotten.

  • No Pure Populations:
It's important to note that Africanized honey bees have largely interbred with European honey bees, and there are no known pure populations of African honeybees in the US.

^from google. That is what I’m wondering about. What happens with they breed with honey bees? I have grandchildren which make it a chilling thought. The two youngest girls run from bees, mostly getting annoyed they follow them around buzzing. I’m always telling them to ignore them and they won’t bother them.

Horrific. I was a groom at one time . I'd have grabbed a hose to drown them or something. Anything to save my horses.

It's amazing. Killer bees. Bees that kill.

It's straight out of Sci-Fi.

The killer bee story has been revived often over the years from its first reporting.

It's always frightening.

Their trying to replay the propaganda scares of the 90's, it was "Acid Rain" "African Killer Bees" and "Ozone Layer", then Y2K Millennium Bug in the big world crash

Propaganda that has come and gone, 2nd circle for the "African Killer Bees" Lol

Killer or Africanized Bees are an actual thing. We have them in Southern California. Just a couple of incidents listed below.

This swarm attacked a volunteer officer who fell to the ground and also the Bee expert who arrived.

Man hospitalized, two of his horses killed by bees.... California.

Animals and people are killed by creature's in nature daily, African Bees are a small concern, same propaganda from the 90's in fear mongering

Urban coyotes attack and kill animals and humans in a much larger scale than the African Bees

A coyote ambushed a two-year-old girl moments after she had been taken out of a car seat, in a brazen attack outside her Los Angeles home.

Coyote attacks are becoming increasingly frequent in Los Angeles, with seven occurring in LA County this year, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Exactly what the media is pushing for, fear to walk out your front door, on incidents that happen annually in a (one in a million) chance it will happen to you, better chance of being struck by lightning on a rainy day

You were saying the Killer Bees were propaganda. The two incidents I listed above were only some of the attacks here in Southern California. There have been other attacks.

And yes we do have Coyote attacks even in the city of Los Angeles.

True. Dogs have gone missing due to coyote predation. :(

So what's the deal with the Dawn dish soap?

Is that their kryptonite or something?
I assume maybe they don’t like the soap. Maybe it distracts them from sting or grasping on. I’ve heard of Dawn dish soap being good to give pets a flea bath. It’s supposed to be milder than harsher things for younger pets but gets the fleas to turn loose. but I don’t know. I have known people who used Dawn to get the fleas off their pets. They said it works, but maybe any soap bath does the same thing. :confused
From Google regarding fleas, maybe similar to bees:
    • How it works:
Dawn dish soap contains surfactants that reduce the surface tension of water, causing fleas to sink and drown. It also affects their waxy exoskeletons, damaging them and potentially allowing water to enter their respiratory tract.
    • Not a preventative:
Dawn doesn't repel fleas or prevent infestations. Fleas can still hop back onto your dog after a bath.
    • Doesn't kill eggs:
Dawn won't kill flea eggs, which can hatch into new fleas later.
    Temporary solution:
    • Dawn can be used as a temporary measure to get rid of fleas on a dog, but it's not a long-term solution.
