Can a person learn the truth or is a person granted truth from God?What is truth? The truth is anything that leads to the glorifying of God. Anything else is just facts of knowledge that esteem mankind and his idols. I do not think that a person can learn truth. I believe we can learn, but what we learn is facts of knowledge that only discover reality in layers. The truth is reveal after all the layers have been wrong and nothing is left except the revelations that speak and witnesses of God. Facts are just pieces of the big puzzle that can never be assembled and figured out by mankind. The puzzle pieces are uncountable and some pieces are just plain hidden. Carnality is finite and limited.Ro 1:20 -For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,John 8: 31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." I believe the best a carnal person could do is learn knowledge and grow in wisdom, which is the proper application of knowledge. A person cannot learn truth on their own without the granting of the Holy Spirit.Joh 14:26 -But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.I believe equating knowledge with truth is error. It leads to sin. Sin manifested by pride, arrogance, and a distorted view of oneself. Facts of knowledge are carnal and reachable by man. It is with this type of knowledge man debates with man. The result of this type knowledge leads to no genuine change of character, strife, and an even greater need of self seeking. Joh 14:6 -Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Jas 1:5 -If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.Jesus is truth and all truth glorifies Him. If a man needs truth and the wisdom to apply, all He needs to do is go to Jesus. What are your thoughts on this matter? Speak out!

good post.I would just like to add. Not all will know the truth because they do not want to. Most people are able to read the truth (Bible). The problem is which Bible? There are so many that claim to be the truth but which one really is? I believe it to be the KJV but that is another topic all together. Those that seek God will be rewarded...Hebrews 11:6But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.Someone must want to seek the truth it will not just appear. Those that seek the truth will be free indeed.John 8:36If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

The KJV is about the most concise in translation due to it being closer to the culture of that day. However, the original languages are the best versus. The KJV still has some pollutions of biases against certain cultures, people, and topics. It was written with an agenda to seperate the people of England from the Catholics so as to give the common man a bible, since Catholics did not allow common folk to have a Bible. Most versions today are even more polluted by our modern cultural biases, disdain for certain topics, and political correct views.
