- And how do you explain John 2:20-22?

John 2:20-22: - 20 “This temple took forty-six years to build,” the Jews replied, “and You are going to raise it up in three days?”

21 But Jesus was speaking about the temple of His body. 22 After He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this. Then they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.

The Jews in verse 20, took what Jesus had said literally, whereas Jesus was speaking metaphorically of three days of the Lord in God's timeframe and not man's timeframe. In other words, Jesus was speaking about a timeframe that was around 3,000-years and not 3-years.

Then in Verse 21, John tells us that Jesus was speaking of His Body of believers who would become the building blocks of the "new Temple" on the earth

Now in verse 22, John explained that after the resurrection that they, the disciples, remembered that He had said this that the temple would be made up of his Body of believers and they then believed what the scriptures and the words that Jesus had spoken to them. Verse 22 is actually silent as to what the disciples remembered and what they believed in from the scriptures and Jesus' words to them.

It seems to me that you are wanting this passage in John 2:19-22 to say something else and have assumed a link that is not there.

Have a good day now.

- What about the New Jerusalem in Revelation 21 and especially verse 22 with Yah.weh and Jesus being its temple!

Relevance? What about the passage in Thessalonians which speaks about the Believers forming the Temple of praise unto the Lord God and that He Jesus would join them in this praise after he had sounded the alarm to gather together.
