Moses rejected the Egyptians though, which must mean he had something more profound at his hands, more good. And he was right, because while Egyptians continued their magic tricks, Moses was building something that lasts and would carry over into Jesus Christ.

Insightful analysis.

As I recall the story, it was the Egyptian culture in harshly treating Hebrews that caused Moses to reject the Egyptian way. Exodus 2:11-15

Moses Commits Murder and Flees to Midian

11 In the course of time Moses grew up. Then he went to ⌞see⌟ his own people and watched them suffering under forced labor. He saw a Hebrew, one of his own people, being beaten by an Egyptian. 12 He looked all around, and when he didn’t see anyone, he beat the Egyptian to death and hid the body in the sand.

13 When Moses went there the next day, he saw two Hebrew men fighting. He asked the one who started the fight, “Why are you beating another Hebrew?”

14 The man asked, “Who made you our ruler and judge? Are you going to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and thought that everyone knew what he had done.

15 When Pharaoh heard what Moses had done, he tried to have him killed. But Moses fled from Pharaoh and settled in the land of Midian.

Does anyone know of the story of a man who travelled down to Egypt and because he was afraid, he told a lie about his wife because he feared that he would die, such that the Egyptians sinned because of his wife's beauty and also this man who had gone down to Egypt was very rich and travelled with many people down into Egypt. At that time, he had a standing army of over 400 fighting men.

Because of this man's fighting men, the Egyptians were afraid of this man and so they wanted a peace agreement with this man which required that the man who went down to Egypt give his "sister" as a sign of establishing a peace treaty between them, however when they took the man's "sister" they felt a great dread over their land as if they had unknowingly committed a great sin which had the dire consequences of dying the second death in the distant future. When they had discerned the cause of their dread, they forcibly sent this man away with his entourage and gave this man much gold to cover their sin against him. They also gave his "sister" a maid servant who would play significant part in this man's story and his descendants.

This man was a descendant of Eber and since this man's visit to Egypt, the Egyptians have hated the descendants of Eber and they wanted no more interactions with Eber's descendants until another descendant of this man was sold as a slave in Egypt who had an ability to understand dreams with the help of his God and then when the opportunity came his way, he forced Egyptian people to becoming the slaves of their Pharoh who ruled over them at that time.

Perhaps there needs to be some forgiveness on both sides to remove their distrust and hatred of each other.

Yes, good reminder. Although Moses himself wasn’t treated badly in the story. He was of the Egyptian aristocracy in the story right? But his compassion at the expense of his own status and fortune is a lesson to us. Even though the Hebrews didn’t trust him after saving a slave from his master. That’s my view as I read it.

The Joseph story is beautiful, there was no evil in that man. I do remember correctly that he was Joseph right? I’ve only read the bible once and still reading.

He was of the Egyptian aristocracy in the story right?

No. Moses was born a Hebrew slave. His mother trusted his fate to God in putting him in a basket in the river, which was found by Pharoah's daughter. This sequence of events led Moses to be raised in Egyptian aristocracy but he was never OF Egyptian aristocracy.

One of the most important parts of all of Scripture is IDENTITY, who is God, who is his Anointed, and who are we - by name and nature or characteristics, attributes. This is revealed to us in good time and it seems that is your story as well, mirroring with the Biblical accounts nicely.
