“… and walk humbly with your God.”

God accepts us as He made us, and is prepared to use us in accordance with the capabilities given us.

Yet, given our fallen nature, there is always the temptation to try to portray ourselves bigger and better than we are.

For some politicians, the temptation is too great. Not to pick on Gov. Walz (please, no schadenfreude), but one of his “look at me” statements wound up being a total humiliation on national TV.

Lesson for Children: Do you see the look on that man’s face when caught in a lie? (Yes, here is an opportunity to teach importance of honesty, humility, and realizing God loves us just as we are.)

By the way: Was that not a first in a debate? Was any personal question close to that ever asked in a previous debate? (So, Why here and now?)

Of course, even politicians who do not lie about experiences will often brag about accomplishments.

Stay humble, politicians! Be humble, Christians!

Thanks @Bob. I understand from reading the scriptures that God does indeed love his children, especially Israel his chosen people. And that is also covered under grafting new branches and breaking away old ones that no longer follow God thru Jesus the Christ his beloved son.

The scriptures teach us the following:

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

It is then wise for children of God to follow Christ our example to the Father and let him mold us into new people under God. We are to change and grow according to the example God has set out for us in the scriptures and example of Christ.

I know that in the years of life I have lived I have witnessed many confessed Christians continuing to old age without ever examining and confessing their faults before God. God can work with us and deliver us from our faults and weaknesses. He can cast out the fire and darkness that binds peoples souls to the works of evil direction and does for many.

Some people call that "born again" Christians. And the general idea I have heard from those that confess that doctrine is that the Holy Ghost that Christ prayed to the Father on our behalf can fill our souls with his wondrous fruits of good instead of evil and direct us in good works of the Lord God.

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

On the matter of politicians, I have to say that the problems are many that are facing the United States with the infiltration of evil practices that are sown in the youth and continue into older age when they become people that can affect their country. We have many immigrants that come from non-Christian countries that also affect our nation.

Politicians probably face criminal prosecution from statements and actions that they make on a day to day basis. And honesty with mistakes can cost them dearly. The two party system we have is limited in selection for the people and that has amounted in a war between parties. I'm seeing a "witch hunt" between parties that is not forgiving to the leaders. And it appears to be more aggressive coming from the liberals and democrats.

The outspoken and loud people who often are the minorities sometimes get their requests granted by politicians and lawmakers and that does not necessarily reflect the stance of the majorities. I also see a harsh online and media silencing of opposing views towards the minorities and foreign alliance citizens of the country.

We as Christians also face online harassment from liberals and workers of evil in attempts to extinguish God and his lawful direction of the population. The attempts usually manifest in the form of advertisement that is sexual, brutal or blasphemous towards Christian viewers when the websites can discern they are in fact aligned with Christianity. If that doesn't work to throw Christians off the internet and away from the public steering of liberal agendas and general damage of society from those groups then attacks from perpetrators follow.

God is watching and I know he is near to finishing the earth. We have some wars brewing with potential catastrophic consequences. Perhaps these are the end times. And God knows that. I believe he desires his family to be richly added to thru Christian promotion in society so that all may have the chance to accept Christianity and our Lord God if they desire. I therefore am concerned about those that fight against God's desires for good for his children on earth.

We can of course pray that the wicked confess their darkness and repent of those works against almighty God and his congregations.

Thanks!
