All the literature I've seen says that if a mole suddenly changes size, shape, color, or texture, that's a warning sign. Get it looked at.

The dangerous skin cancer is Melanoma and it is black.

I've had Basel Cell cancers removed from my face, ear. The ear one they froze off.

Thanks Debp! I'm guessing they will freeze this off but it was small then kinda grew over a year or so.

Dark brown mole. The only reason I became concerned about it is that it shed skin. It has grown in size and is rather large for a mole and raised somewhat. But the itchy is not a good sign either I suppose.

Dev, if it is Basel Cell Cancer, that is the least serious. There is another called Squamous. And finally the deadly skin cancer is Melanoma....it is black.

So hopefully your mole is not cancerous at all or else just Basel Cell.

Still icy here so I can't get it checked yet, after the weekend maybe.

I talked to my counselor and we agreed it wasn't urgent enough to go to the walk in clinic. So I'm waiting for my doctor to look at it in two weeks time. I just hope it doesn't spread. It's losing skin again.

I've been getting neck pain on that side for around a week now, and the back of my head hurts on that side. I see the doctor pretty soon, but hopefully it's nothing.

Core samples are reportedly safe. Samples gleaned with a blade, as I understand it, can metastasise

The cancer blood tests turned up negative so that is good news.
