This is a Mountain Lion cub rescued from a road, no mother. Now at a wildlife sanctuary.

Such beautiful yet dangerous animals.

Australia has a bad reputation of having dangerous animals and I like playing along with that narrative to make outsiders think we're wild and crazy. hlf

But I think it's more dangerous to go camping in America.

Y'all have dangerous snakes, spiders, and sharks like we do but y'all also have wild cats, bears and wild dogs that will actually stalk and prey on humans to eat. We don't have many animals like that.
Only dingo's but they are rare, especially down south and on the east coast where our population centres are. I've never seen one in the wild.

Do you ever come across venomous snakes? I hear you have some really big spiders too?

Snakes appear in suburban areas all around Australia but I've only ever seen them in the bush and scrub lands.
Brown and tiger snakes are common and very venomous. If bitten, your dead within an hour if you don't get to a hospital in time.
But they only attack if they feel threatened. They usually hear/feel you coming and slither away, so bites are fairly rare.

We have big spiders but it's the small ones you should fear. Red backs, white tails and funnel webs are all small and venomous. If bitten you need to get to the hospital asap.
But again they will only bite if they feel threatened.

Sharks are well documented but if your swimming in the tropics it's those invisible jellyfish which are most deadly.
Irukandji jellyfish are tiny, about an inch big but they can kill you if not treated.
The box jellyfish are bigger with heaps of long tentacles. They're one of the most deadliest animals in the world. It can kill a person within 10 minutes if it gets you badly.

Aside from that Australia is a great place.
You should come and visit. :jest:

Yer, and they will come expecting kangaroos and koalas to be roaming around in the heart of Sydney for them to see without really visiting Australia at all.

That's interesting. Do you have those Cone shells (snails)? They are pretty and small but if you pick it up on the beach and get stung, I heard you are dead in seconds.

I think most tourists would know better than that. Although I did see a documentary about Kangeroos regularly coming into a certain suburban area... can't remember the city.

I think Coober Pedy would be interesting to visit. My traveling days are over now though.

Well there another venomous animal I didn't even know about. Apparently they live on the great barrier reef

When my cousins visited from France they expected us to have a pet Koala. LoL.
A three minute drive from where my parents lives, in the outer suburbs, we can often see a large group of kangaroos there

Coober Pedy is very isolated. The town is famous for its opal mining industry. Most people stop while their making the north/south journey through the centre of Australia.

Good thing I told you! I saw a story where the lady saw the pretty shell so picked it up and got stung...she died.

Do you go to the beach much? I'm an hour away by city bus from Santa Monica Beach and pier. Thirty minutes by car.

They're seeing a lot more sharks now due to warmer water.

I go to the beach a bit in the summer but I don't live in the tropics where you find venomous jellyfish and shell fish
