Sell that ye have is to sell all........just another way to say it.......it doesnt say sell some of what ye have

So are you homeless now and go to the public library to post messages online?
You have no clothes and walk around nekkid after having literally sold EVERYTHING that you have???

It's being a hypocrite to not practice what you preach which is why nobody has any respect for anything you say anymore.

You should do better Dougie boy, and be homeless and own nothing! :csm

Lets backtrack here
I said this...........I just dont think I am to obey it all........I learn from what Jesus taught and commanded but I dont think the commands given his disciples and Israel pertain to me to obey

then you said this.............The devil used to try and tell me that as well

then I replied this...................Have you sold all...................[Luk 18:22 KJV] 22 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me..............I was showing that you cant say you can or shouldnt say all commands are for you to obey from the four gospels

Now how in the world can you say I am advocating selling all? I am saying the opposite
If you are saying you keep all the commands, then You cant manipulate scripture to avoid keeping the commandment to sell all by saying sell what you have isnt having to sell all

You telling me I should do something you are not willing to do, especially considering you reject the Words of Jesus having become an idolator by following Paul which is all hypocritical, unhinged, and being carnal minded.

Those not following the Lord Jesus are on the highway to hell so they might want to learn the error of their ways, repent, and get right with the Lord.

At any rate, better luck on the next topic :gd

Paul was an Apostle meaning He was employed by Jesus as one of His helpers.

And as such the Lord continued His teaching ministry not only thru Paul, but also thru all the the New Testament writers.

None of them are any more important than the others and we are called to follow Jesus and not anybody else.

Many have made an idol out of Paul and actually follow Him as they reject Jesus which is why they ignore the teachings of Jesus

This is one of the ear marks of the false grace movement which is one of satan's more modern day deceptions.

So then you do admit that as a follower of Paul you agree with all the things the Lord said thru Paul in 1 Timothy 6:3 - 6:4 concerning those that reject the words of Jesus?

The Lord says thru Paul that those who reject the Word of Jesus are He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth

Is that you???

You can follow Paul and not reject Jesus or his teachings
If you follow Paul you are following Christ..................[1Co 11:1 KJV] 1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also [am] of Christ.

I dont know where you got this meaning
An apostle is a sent one to convey the message and purpose of God

Yeah, meaning he works for God.

Actual Christians follow the Lord Jesus - not His helpers, His Angels, or His momma..

Those following any of the Lord's helpers are guilty of idolatry since they are putting the helper before the Lord Jesus

This is what the false grace crowd does as they seek to make rejecting the Words of Jesus to be a good thing

They don't understand they have been tricked by the devil to become proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth as the Lord taught thru his helper Paul in 1 Timothy 6:3-6

If you follow Paul you are following Christ

Not when one is rejecting the Word of Jesus they aren't - 1 Timothy 6:3-6

[1Co 11:1 KJV] 1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also [am] of Christ.

I'm predestined to conform to the Image of Jesus Christ, not of Paul - Romans 8:29-33

My deal is far superior than your deal since you are merely following one of the Lord's helpers, while I on the other hand am highly blessed, empowered, and honored to have been predestined and called to follow Jesus and conform to be like Him! :csm

I liked what you said.......nothing to do with it, I just got to thinking about this passage

I dont think Jesus was talking about saving unto eternal life. by selling goods.........eternal life came by believing on his name by believing he was Christ, the Son of God........Zacchaeus must have done this, maybe in verse 6 where he received him and verse 8 where he called him Lord

I think selling goods saved him to enter the kingdom on earth

The reference to eternal life is not in the picture of Zacchaeus the publican but found in the first rich man I referenced here in Luke 18:18 where he asks Jesus this

Luke 18:18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

And Jesus responded

Thou knowest the commandments

He responded

And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.

And Jesus responded

Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.

Between the two pictures (the one in Luke 18:18 in the above and the one in Luke 19:8) appear to contrast between them a worldly sorrow and godly sorrow

Look at it from the point of a publican (that believed John) who would enter the Kingdom of God before the Pharisees. For example, John said, I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance and 2 Cr 7:10) says, for godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation. Zacchaeus was the chief among the publicans, Jesus said to the pharisees Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God
before you. Saying, For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

Zacchaeus then, would be who of the same who believed John (who was looking for Jesus) "he that cometh after me is mightier than I (John said).

Zacchaeus, calls out to the Lord saying, "Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor

That seems to fall under John's teaching, for example, when the people asked what should they do,

John answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none;
and he that hath meat, let him do likewise. (Luke 3:11)

If you had 2 coats (and gave one away) and did the same with meat also that would be giving half

Luke 19:8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord;

Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor

And he continues

and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

Restoring fourfold, or Four sheep for a sheep is found here

Exodus 22:1 If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox,
and four sheep for a sheep.

Shown also in David

2Sam 12:6 And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing

And so in Zacchaeus (a publican, which were those who Jesus said believed John) but we can see an outworking of his teaching, and a godly sorrow working repentance to salvation 2 Cr 7:10

To whom Jesus (who come after John) would respond to Zacchaeus this way.

Luke 19:9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

Repentance is also unto life
