But application of "the word of knowledge' can be a learning curve.
(5) After this experience, my first exercise of “the word of knowledge” was the inner knowing that my future career would be aided by being honored for the highest GPA in my province in my senior year… A few years ago, my psychiatrist cousin reminded me that I had told him I would achieve this goal. What makes this revelation such a gift is the fact that I had previously not done particularly well in high school. When the premier of my province announced this achievement at my high school commencement, it was one of my most thrilling experiences not because of the ego gratification, but because it proved that my Spirit baptism had truly placed me in the center of God’s will.
But “the word of knowledge” is a spiritual gift that can be part of a learning curve and its application is not always easy to grasp. Consider these 2 examples:

(6) At age 19, I was a Winnipeg college student. About 5 years my senior, my friend Dallas was the leader of our church youth group of about 150. I had just been Best Man at his wedding and was now invited to the newlyweds post-Christmas dinner. After eating, we played table tennis in their basement. Dallas mentioned that he was going deer hunting in northern Manitoba the next day and I instantly felt a sense of dread. It seemed as if I saw his skeleton and was certain that he would be killed in an accident if he went on this trip. Horrified, I felt compelled to share my premonition with him. He was offended and blamed my so-called premonition on my anti-hunting views. I had no such views, though I’ve never gone hunting myself. What could I do? I had no evidence beyond my certainty. I guess I hoped God would confirm my premonition to Dallas.

A few days later, we had a New Year’s Eve service at our church. What happened when I arrived at the church was straight out of a horror movie. 3 young girls in our youth group approached me, giggling, and said. You do know that Dallas was killed yesterday in a hunting accident. He was riding a snowmobile with his gun leaning beside him and hit a bump, which caused his rifle to discharge into his shoulder. He bled to death before his hunting buddies got him to a doctor. Thr girls giggled and one said to the other, “Wow, I guess we sure ruined his day!” It was as if Hell was taunting me for my friendship with Dallas. What was so funny about their youth leader’s death? I charitably assumed that their was just a nervous laughter. I later obsessed over what this tragedy meant. Why was I given this premonition if it would be useless to prevent his death? And was his death predestined fate?

(7) In my senior year at Princeton Seminary, I was about to return home for Christmas vacation. My friend Ted had just been accepted in the D. Phil. program in New Testament at Cambridge U. and I also wanted to apply to that doctoral program. So I went to Ted’s dorm room and asked if I could borrow his Cambridge catalogue. As I did, I suddenly “saw” his skeleton and knew that his death was imminent. But what could I do? I didn’t know how he would die. So I tried to put this knowledge out of my mind and flew home for Christmas. When I returned, I learned from Ted’s friend Ken that Ted had been killed in a car accident. Ken was driving him home to Ohio, when Ken’s car slipped on an icy freeway onramp and the car crashed into a pole, killing Ted and breaking Ken’s arm. I had tried to suppress my premonition. In retrospect, I wondered if God alerted me to Dallas’s and Ted’s fate because He wanted me to intercede for their protection. These premonitions kept coming and were never wrong! Stay tuned for more accounts.
So sorry about the loss of your friends. I agree, by all means pray - anytime we receive something from the Lord and don't know what it means or what to do about it, it's a good idea in general to bring it to the Lord.

I dont know anything about William Branham, but it occurs to me that when he said you were blind and then cured of your blindness, he might have been speaking prophetically in a spiritual sense (allegorically) as concerns your spiritual gift, and even might have been imparting it to you at that moment when you were a child, though it wasn't activated until you were baptized in the Holy Spirit.

Do not quench the Spirit.

Do not despise prophecies.

Test all things; hold fast what is good.
What we have here is a cessationist , every bit as dangerous as many within the charasmetic movement .
As you well know JESUS CHRIST is the same yesterday and forever .
Many decievers do abound . cessationism is a lie .
and the charasmetic movement has wolves all over it .
We gonna stick in that bible sister . the gifts are still real . yep .

What William Branham did is a very common tactic of faith healers. They tell you you've been healed even if you don't see immediate results. You have to keep "receiving" your healing and believe it, otherwise you won't see it and it'll be your fault. This isn't true healing, it's a con.

William Branham was for real, I don't know about this one situation, I know there are many who vouch for his gift. There are quite a few videos of people who knew him and have testimonies of God's working through him.

I was sharing about words of Knowledge with a county deputy who exclaimed how he was on a high speed chase and received a vision of a car stopped in his lane just over the hill, he slowed down enough, popped over the hill and there was indeed a car stopped as in his vision.
I was taught from John 16 as Jesus said when Holy Spirit comes, ( this present age) He will guide, speak and show all truth, the word for show being "Photas" the word we get photo from, this pictures from Him flash in an instant and we don't catch them, they are gone.
That is the best of my recollection of this.

Once Joseph Smith(mormon cult) placed planks just under the water to fake walking on water. Between show someone removed on of them. He sank to the bottom. ROFL

Amen, truth and the illumination/light of the Holy Spirit.

Just want to mention that I think it's important to know that many false teachers/prophets/ministers have genuine gifts of the Spirit, and still operate in them, but what makes them false are other factors, such as how they are using their gifts (showmanship and performance?), what is motivating them (gain, ambition?), and their doctrines (false?). In looking at Balaam the false prophet in the book of Numbers I noticed how he had to speak the words of God when God gave them, though that wouldn't have precluded him also speaking lies at other times and compromising his ministry for gain.

From what I've seen, God may be and often is merciful to allow people to be ministered to by those who are false by way of false doctrine and compromised ministry and life, but that doesn't mean for a minute that He is putting His stamp of approval on that one who is ministering. The gifts are given without repentance, so it's so important to give thanks and glory to God and follow HIM, not the vessel through whom God may minister a healing, deliverance, impartation or word of prophecy etc. I think someone with a ministry can start out well enough in the beginning but stray from the right path as they go along, tempted by "success" or often led astray themselves by seeing role models in ministry who are out of the way. Everything seems to have a way of testing souls. That is a matter of growth and spiritual maturity as well I believe. It's the young and immature who are more prone to attaching themselves to "personalities" and blowing around with every wind that comes by until/unless they mature and become more stable and grounded.

I don't know much about William Branham, I vaguely remember hearing both good and bad about his ministry, but possibly this might account for some of the conflicting reports about him..?

Good point..
- I agree.

Sometimes, the problem is..too much focus on the vessel.

Anyone interested in the facts about William Branham can check out these videos. The guys who make them are insiders who finally came around to the truth about Branham. They know their stuff.

From the above link:

"William Marrion Branham (A.K.A. William Marvin Branham, 1907[2]-1965) was a Pentecostal minister from Jeffersonville, Indiana credited by some as initiating the Post WWII Healing Revival. The first of ten children of Charles and Ella Branham, Branham claimed to have been born in Cumberland County, KY and reared in the booming Southern Indiana casino town directly across the river from Louisville, KY. He was also a 'doomsday prophet', predicting several years that he claimed to be the End of Days.

This site is not sympathetic to William Branham or the white supremacy agenda. The intent of this website is to provide research material used for critical examination of William Branham, his 'Message' cult following, and the men, women, and organizations that he influenced as well as those who influenced him."

Anyone who is interested in the facts on William Branham can find those who knew him personally such as this brother in Christ, and then take it to the Lord for His confirmation.
Or can walk in error by leaning on their own understanding and give place to detractors, and there will always be the adversaries detractors until the adversary is removed-
See which of these resonates in your spirit.

The devil has always had those who will steal, kill and destroy for him, now they even make videos supporting his attacks.
If it is in line with Galatians c5-v22&23 it is Him, none of these that you so laboriously posted lines up with scripture, they DO line up with the inverse.

Most faith healers of dubious character start off mightily used of God. but then they succumb to the need to put on a good show. He deliberately distorted what the note my Dad wrote about my condition said to create the illusion that a blind little boy had just been given his sight, and the crowd went wild, just as Branham had planned. I was quickly wisked off stage as my heart-broken Dad tried to explain the distortion. This fraud embittered and disillusioned my godly parents, who had invested most of their life savings for the long trip from Canada to Elgin, Illlinois to attend the meetings.

Not at all.
That statement may refer to some who wish to be seen as walking in His power, but are not, then why do you watch phoniness? Jesus doesn't call anyone to do so.
The Lord calls us to guard ourselves and turn away from such, and if we are truly His we no longer walk in our own "opinion" which is another error, we are no longer "our own" but rather are to be His hands and feet in all areas of life. Everyone has an "opinion", none of them matter since we are created, our Creators direction and guidance matter, that is how we give Him first place.
The devil always has detractors to attack the advancement of the Gospel, how does anyone who is truly Christian not know this?
best wishes

I can't help but feel that God did answer your parent's prayers but just not in the same way they were thinking. That is very like Him to do something like that. You did receive "sight" didn't you? Just not physically, but you received something better and greater. We as human being tend to want the Lord to change our circumstances while He is often wanting to give us something higher. :) Anyway, leave it with you. Enjoying reading your testimony, thank you for sharing it, it is encouraging...God is so great.

You have an awesome faith and it always brings joy to see your posts.
The adversary will always try to steal, kill and destroy, was the lack of faith of someone in this an open door to the adversary?
His healing today is the same as Jesus modeled for each of us, we don't go to "a guy with the gift" when it is available to all of us, the best books on His healing are Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
