I don’t know. It is a good question. ‘What becomes of Christians who give place to the devil, or give him a foothold? Maybe, they oppose themselves? 2 Timothy 2:24-26 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, [25] In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; [26] And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

If they are not corrected and repent of it but continue to give themselves to serving the enemy, in New Testament times it would result in judgment. It is described somewhat in 1 Corinthians 11:

28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. 29 For he that eats and drinks unworthily, eats and drinks damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. 30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. 31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

The devil cannot attach himself to what is not like him. That is why we must walk in the spirit. When we are walking/living in the spirit we are submitted to God...

James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
[5] Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
[7] Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.


What becomes of Christians who give place to the devil?

They are led away from God, little by little ... bit by bit. Until one day they find themselves backslid.
