I think Christianity is an individual as well as a more fellowship and collectiveness group of likeminded spiritual relationship based group, then it is based on any particular party.

Once you strip away the labels you come right down to the individual person and their moral or immoral beliefs.
Not all Republicans are Christians and not all Democrats are Heathens LOL
But you will find both on both sides.
So I wouldn't say it's a Party association.
If it is, it's not because you're a Christian, it's because you want to be part of the Party.
And that's not what being a Christian is all about.
In my opinion.

And the question was about policies.

If the policy itself was not infected with amendments that detracted from the concept of the policy itself,
I think either side could bring a good fundamentally honest and sincere bill to the floor.
There are some good policies the democrats and republicans both have but usually mixed in is the added pork, fat. Leaven.
If they could learn to unleaven those bills and policies, we would all see hardly any policies at all.
Because the communities and neighborhoods would be the government that we govern ourselves by.
Frankly I wish Congress would just go home and let us figure it out ourselves.

I think Republican policies are generally more in line with Christianity. Do you agree or disagree?
Politics shouldn't become entangled with religion, that's my opinion. Policies shouldn't be enacted based on a religious preference; they should be what's best for ALL Americans, regardless of religious affiliation or no affiliation. Unfortunately, the current political environment has become a contest of what religious group is going to attain dominance. Christians need to learn we serve God, not a political party.

Yes I think so. Of course the abortion issue is at the forefront. However I can remember Kamala Harris inviting some gay men to the White House. One of them wore a dress and had a mustache and beard! When she was AG in California she performed the first same sex marriage in California and was proud of that.

Republican policies tend to be more conservative.

Politics:
the activities associated with the governance of a country or area, especially the debate between parties having power:

Moses and Korah got into a pretty heavy debate as to who was supposed to "govern" or lead the congregation.
So they brought the matter before the Judge.
Korah and his company lost the debate.
The vote was Moses 1 and Korah 0

In the NT you had the Pharisees and Sadducees and the Sanhedrin.
Literally politicians.
What should we do that it will be well with our nation?
That is a political question.

There is an interesting debate in John 11.

Jhn 11:47
Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.
Jhn 11:48
If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.
Jhn 11:49
And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,
Jhn 11:50
Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
Jhn 11:53
Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.

This is pure politics.

Think of the Congress voting to Censor another member. Or, look at the War Powers Act that is being debated now in Congress.
Who has the authority to go to war, The President or the Congress.
Well war effects a whole nation, and many nations.
And so the parties involved come together and have a council and decide the outcome.

They all come together, put their argument on the floor, they vote, and either an action or no action is taken.

There really is no separation between Politics and Religion.
Both have their role in the Governance of a group, a party, a congregation.

Somebody governs the church you go to. They decide the hours of service, the days of attendance, parking arrangements, what order the service will be given.
And usually their is a Board of councilors or members that come together and decide what manner the service should be governed.

Everything is political in one fashion or another.
What is Religion?
a particular system of faith and worship

When it becomes a "system" there is politics.

Jas 1:26
If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
Jas 1:27
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

The word religion in the bible is
thrace-ki'-ah; from a derivative of G2357; ceremonial observance:—religion, worshipping.

So James says in verse 26 says, there is no debate, no argument, no vote.
Verse 27 says Do it from the heart.

Whenever Congress comes together to pass a bill and it gets turned into law, it it political.
This can be , who gets housing, who gets snap, who gets "special" anything.
These things are both religion based , feed the hungry, house the homeless, visit the sick, but if they become a debate, or those things need to be litigated before a group, then it becomes political.

The only way to keep them separate is to just do it without waiting for permission from someone else to do it.
That keeps the politics out of it.
Don't look for Congress or other Groups to make that decision for you.

That's how I understand it.

Again, you hijacked my thread to talk about something else. Why not just stick to the topic and then create your own thread to discuss these other things?

I would say the Right (Republican) align with my Christian values more than the Left. Here we have a debate about what children should be taught in schools about gender and "gay" issues ... a lot of conservative Christian parents are taking their kids out of government schools and sending them to private schools because of this.

The Left also promote CRT (critical race theory) which ladens children with guilt about "colonialism".

My grandchildren have internalized a future of doom and anxiety because of "global warming" ... another Left mantra.

The Left's policy of DEI is contrary to treating everyone equally ... which is a Biblical principle.

Attempts to restrict late term abortions has failed in states that have Left leaning legislatures.

Our present left wing federal government is rapidly losing popularity I am happy to say.

Tbh, I think both the Left and the Right in the USA (Democrats and Republicans alike) have gone to fringe extremes as of late, that many Americans have views which kinda fit both sides in a way, or are mixed and in the center.

I kinda liked the older Democrats (JFK, Carter era) as well as the older Republican ethos, which focused more on civility and simpler values such as family and faith and tried to work with rivals and opponents cordially too (Reagan and even Bush).

There is this Christian party known as the American Solidarity Party (with orange colors) which combines what it sees as the best of both left and right at as platform. So I think maybe more third parties (like Yang's Forward Party) might be able to help change things in the future

To be honest... neither, Christianity has nothing to do with politics, only the Word of God dictates, a saved and holy life, not a political party. The Democrats go to far which introduces abominations and a lifestyle against the Word of God and the Republicans go too far being too self-righteous, judgmental and hypocritical, they are our modern day Sadducees. They quote the Word but don't live it.

Another non-response to the topic. Honestly, the people here are simply too stupid to engage with on any topic.

I think the Right (Republicans) support religious freedom more than the Left (Democrats).

People have been prosecuted and even lost their livelihood because they refused to partcicpate in an ungodly event like same sex marriage.

Who told you that? I refuse to participate in those ungodly acts, if I'm persecuted because of the Word of God that's fine, but as our God gives ones freewill, no political party should take it away from anyone as well, we are the church and that's our calling to preach the gospel, they either accepted or don't
