Learning the Bible is great! But, it takes time. You have a life time to learn doctrine. In the meantime, lean on Christ and practice loving other people by serving them. The applied Christian life is all about loving others!

Hey Hosanna! :) Glad to have you on here!

God says we must 'love him with all our hearts, all our soul, all our mind, and all our strength'. I won't lie. I don't. I love the Lord, but I am a failure when it comes to giving everything... But I've also come to understand why! I am young and immature in my faith, it takes alot of sacrifice and a lot of learning to always give everything.

The key then is honesty. I've failed at this also, sadly... And now I know I need to bring my success and my failures in the Lord before him, and give them to him. Everytime you see your eyes are not on the Lord, run to him, not away! :)

Much love in our Lord... Don't give up! :)

Hi Hosanna!

Lovely to have here at CB!

When I was a newbie on the Church scene, it was hard to join in some of the young people "Bible Games" as I did not know where to find various scripture. After awhile though, I became good at finding and memorizing verses. My old Home Group leader used to say that we needed to, not only learn scripture off by heart but also where to find it in the bible. It's kinda like anything...we learn by practice and then apply what we have learn't to our daily life. Prayer is just talking with God...just like you'd talk to a good friend. Don't worry about being fancy in prayer...you just need to be yourself. God loves you dear one!

Hi Hosanna2011...I am very new to this board, though I have tried to follow Jesus' accurate teaching, for a very long time. Here is my advice...learn how to pray first. Jesus gives us a wonderful example and his words and style are very important. Meekness is an attitude which Almighty God values plus a honest respect for his written word. My experience, tells me that this is what is necessary to interact with God's active force. Quiet prayer...out of the earshot of others, Jesus tells us, is also highly valued. This will lead you into Bible teaching with a good heart and a greater desire to search for the deeper meaning behind Jesus' teaching.
