I believe in the churches as seven congregations...

Ephesus - Messianic - Beginning with the Apostle to the Circumcision, Peter
Smyrna - Martyr - Beginning with the Apostle to the Un-Circumcision, Paul
Pergamos - Orthodoxy formed in this time... Pergos is a tower... Needed in the dark ages
Thyatira - Catholicism formed in this time - The spirit of Jezebel is to control and to dominate.
Sardis - Protestantism formed in this time- A sardius is a gem - elegant yet hard and rigid
Philadelphia - Wesleyism formed in this time - To be sanctioned is to acquire it with love. Too bad the revivals did not last a long time!
Laodicea - Charismatic movement formed in this time - Beginning with DL Moody, the first to make money off of ministry

In which, I believe for the most part, the people are Laodicean, in which they care very little about church doctrine and are weighed down by the weight of their own earthly cares, worries, and responsibilities.

My dad's side of the family was Catholic and my dad actually went to Catholic seminary. They use to attend Holy Family Catholic in Saginaw Michigan and just walking up the stairs into a sanctuary pictured below with priests, monks, nuns, in a medieval setting, was a treat in itself.

After that I was a product of revival. We had a Baptist one going on when I was a kid, in which we attended. They use to have conferences all the time and I spent my high school years going to such conferences, which were spiritually refreshing.

After high school I fell in with the Pentecostal Holiness, which order of service was exactly like the Methodist church 100 years before them. My old pastor was an expert in finding good evangelist and we had many revivals a year.

In this day and time the mentioned conferences and revival died away. Which makes me worry that we are full fledged into the Laodcean church age. And the beauty of the previous congregational ages is in danger of dying away. My old Baptist church, on grounds that they did not like 'Gospel Rock' basically rebelled against the GARBC denomination and became independent. But... Without the support of a denomination they have done very poorly since.

Which is why, by the way, that I do not spend a whole lot of time talking bad about the Catholic church. My own congregational movements have lost the fires of revival. Not to mention that the once wonderful anointing of the Holy Spirit has turned to human ego in many cases. I am more worried about my own congregation than any other. If the Catholics have anything going on good for Christ I will read into it and rejoice with them!

It's refreshing to hear from a person who has a genuinely Christian attitude towards Catholic Christians. God bless you.

I gotta disagree with you about your analysis on the 7 churches of Revelation, though.

The churches are congregations or "parishes" of the same Church. The letters drive home the point that most of those congregations had gone astray and the need to be of like mind. This is what Paul is saying in 2 Thess. 2:15, 2 Tim. 2:2, 1 Cor. 11:2, 2 Tim. 1:12-14.

Which is OK... I do not mind people disagreeing with me on the book of Revelation. I find that the Spirit of the Laodicean church age has prevailed in most churches these days. I use to visit a Catholic church full of monks, priests, nuns, and beheld a full service like it was done in medieval times. The last Catholic church I visited did not have this feel
