I just wanted to share something I received from the Lord. As I was sharing with Robbie about something through PM's and we were talking about the trials and tribulations we go through, the Lord all of a sudden opened up my understanding and as I was thinking about it, the Lord was just giving me more!
Here's what came to me. It's about our faith, and how we are to glorify God!
God wants to build something in us... He wants to build faith in us. And so he allows the devil to test us. He makes of us a showcase to the angels FOR HIS GLORY! The Lord is just showing me how our faith gives Him glory.
It's right there in how the devil speaks with the Lord before testing Job. The accuser goes before God and says "of course Job is faithfull to you, you are blessing him. Allow me to take everything from him and he will curse you." And God answers "Go ahed, test, see if he really loves me".
Job does NOT see God. And that is the important thing. The angels do, and so it is easy for them to believe him. But Job has never seen him. The devil takes everything away from Job, and yet Job keeps faith in God. Even if it was just hanging on by a string, he had faith! And so the devil and all the angels are shown that men, though they don't see him, can have faith in him and trust him.
This gives him glory! And the amazing thing is that it says that if you honor God, then he will honor you.
It is like this with us; we first give him honor by having faith even though we are going through terrible trials and tortures and pains, and so God receives glory. Then, and only then, God glorifies us! Like Job, who was restored after with twice as much as he had before. But that is an image of eternity. Now Jesus has come, the new is here, and by the strength of the Lord we can have faith to the end of our lives, to the point of being killed and destroyed! And then, in eternity, we receive glory, we share in his as we rule and reign with him... If we are faithfull!
As James says in his epistle, 'Humbe yourself in the sight of the Lord, and he will lift you up!"
It is a beautiful revelation! Praise the Lord, he is GREAT!
I just want to add and emphasize something; we don't see Him IN that situation! He hides from us for a time... That's what makes it so glorious! Our natural senses say "no, he is not here", but we trust him beyond that! :)
