There is an interesting Initiative on the ballot in Tucson Arizona that they want to take the unclaimed lottery money and use it to pay one lucky voter 1 million dollars for voting. Being paid for voting is this a good idea or a slippery slope?

Well, I'm up in the air about it. On one hand, it seems to be an idea to give a little bonus to those who do their civic duty. On the other hand, it is their civic duty and we don't want people going and putting down names simply to try and win the lottery. I suppose I'd lean towards better spending of the money elsewhere. Take it and put it in the educational arena or some other sector that needs it.
