I was told once that if you can't pick your bike up after laying it down, you should be riding a smaller bike. Or not at all. I think my 250cc farm-bike was heavier than much bigger road bikes... Found myself sprawled across the paddock on many occasions sometimes with the bike on top. Lying downhill in mud. With the hot exhaust pipe burning through my trousers. Dragging the bike around so I could face downhill to pick it up. Fun.
I used to ride a Honda cb900, among others. Didn't like it much, never did like leaning forward so much like racing. Love the Triumph. Classic.
Although @Triumph1300 it wouldn't be the weight of the bike that would determine my choice to ride. It would be the climate. Canada with snow and ice everywhere? I don't think so. Yeah, I know you can get great gears now days, but I'm a surfer. I remember riding my first bike to the beach caring my surfboard under one arm and wearing t shirt and shorts and jandles. Oh, and no helmet.

That's me for sure, but it was a couple of years before I met my wife.

I guess you havnt seeing the one with a guy on an aluminum ladder drilling a hole with an extension lean in the middle of a swimming pool. its out there.
I feel so wonderfully young after reading of all these long-lasting marriages, but so happy that there are still some good ole fashioned folk on this planet whom God has blessed with such enduring relationships. My wife and i celebrated our 40th anniversary last January. God is good.

I guess it's a good thing we cannot see one another's faces at the moment. Mine probably hasn't been so red since I met my wife.
