It's entirely possible the pilots were not actually stupid and the electrical system of the plane malfunctioned.

The plane was built by Boeing after all. :funlaugh2

A pilot said the cockpit crew made serious errors.
Instead of pulling up the wheels, they changed the flap angle, they pushed or pulled the wrong lever while taking to the air.
The wheels caused a huge drag on the forward speed.
The flaps were then set wrong, could not generate sufficient lift, even with them pushing engines to max throttle.

The plane lost ability to lift up and fly, started coming down.
They pulled up the nose and it did not help.
They only had seconds to fix their error, and they were panicking.
It's just like when the unexpected happens due to your own fault, you're thinking you are doing the right things, but you made a mistake and do not understand what is happening.

I can see how an AI could fly a plane better as it knows every step and does it like a machine will do.
‘ a pilot said ‘ sounds like speculation.
Probably best to wait and see what the black box reveals - to see if in fact it was pilot error or not.

If I was a betting man (and gambling was not sinful), I'd bet that the plane itself malfunctioned and is the cause of the crash.

If you'll remember, this particular Boeing plane has been very problematic and numerous other planes have crashed especially when this model first came out a few years ago.

There are claims that there were problems on the previous flight - but obviously you get all kinds of claims on social media.

The flaps and wheels are the main think right now for this crash

If the pilot had flaps up at takeoff, alarms will sound.
Meaning flaps were ok until pilot went to raise wheels. flap handle is next to wheel control.
Idea is the mistake happens right after plane is airborne. Flap handle is mistakenly moved up leaving wheels down

An auto pilot AI would not have made this takeoff mistake.
