The testimony of John the Baptist's is in the New Testament. It is not in the Old Testament. John the Baptist was preparing the way for the Lord of the New Covenant; John the Baptist was hardly representing anything of the Old Covenant when he was addressing the inner man and not what religious people do by their outward appearance of religious works.
sorry my friend John and the Lord Jesus was under LAW the Old Covenant. for a new Covenant cannot come in effect until the testator dies. so your argument that John the Baptist was in the New testament ERROR on your Part. supportive scripture, Hebrews 9:16 "For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth".

You said this:

"I see you didn't read the OT, John the baptist was beheaded, and he's OT. just an example." in post #19 on page one.

That is why I had posted this below..

"The testimony of John the Baptist's is in the New Testament. It is not in the Old Testament. Now you are saying this:

"sorry my friend John and the Lord Jesus was under LAW the Old Covenant. for a new Covenant cannot come in effect until the testator dies. so your argument that John the Baptist was in the New testament ERROR on your Part. supportive scripture, Hebrews 9:16 "For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth". "

John the Baptist was called to prepare the way of the Lord; his call for water baptism for the repentance of sins.

John 3:1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. 3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. 4 And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey. 5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan, 6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins. 7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: 9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. 10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: 12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

So there is no way you can say that John the Baptist was preaching the Old Covenant at all. He was preparing the way for the Lord of the New Covenant and said so.

again, go and ask your pastor or overseer, or whoever oversee your congregation and ask them if John the baptist live under the OT. any competent minister will tell you the truth.

This is such a crazy topic...

The scriptures clearly state that there is no grand group resurrection, but rather the coming of "each one in his own order." Yet, being such creatures and prisoners of time, we have a need to fit the scriptures into some ridiculous timeline. None seem to consider the reality of time verses the timeless nature of God. That regardless of when we exit time - we shall all arrive at once. Just as it was when we came into the world...each in our own time, we came out of the timeless nature of God.

Christ's the firstfruits... firstfruits being plural.. and they that be Christ's at His coming.....

Many readers just seem to apply firstfruits to Christ alone.

1 Corinthians 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. 24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

Then the end is when Satan is released from the pit for the last staged rebellion and then death & all evil will be judged and done away with before Jesus hands the completed kingdom to God the Father.

Matthew 13:33 Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

Christ the firstfruits is the first measure or the first harvest that makes up the kingdom of God at the pre trib rapture event.

They that be Christ's at His coming shall make up the second measure or the second harvest of the Kingdom of God after the great tribulation.

Then those that remain loyal to Christ at the end of the millenial reign after Satan is defeated for the last time when the kingdom of God is completed by the last measure which is the last harvest of believers that makes up the kingdom of God before giving that completed kingdom to God the Father.

Not necessary since your opinion cannot be validated by scripture when John the Baptist's is being a witness of Jesus Christ, the forerunner of the New Covenant, by Whom John prophesied changes are coming to Israel thus hardly speaking for the Old Covenant, but yes, he was living still in the times when the Old Covenant was still in place, but again, he was not representing the Old Covenant at all when his water baptism of repentance for the remission of sins is hardly the Old Covenant at all.

Mark 1:3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. 4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. 5 And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.

John prepared the way for the Lord when believing in Him is how one receives the remission of sins & thus the promise of the Holy Ghost at salvation.

Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. 44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

"The first fruits" is Israel (those waited for the coming of Messiah), and "they that are Christ's at his coming" are those who are born again of the spirit of God (those who do not wait, for he comes quickly), whose coming is the end, at death, the last victory.

But, even we who are not the first fruits, "were" raised up with Him. There is no mass event, except for the resurrection of the first fruits. It is finished.

ACTUALLY Christ the firstfruits are those O.T. saints that Christ had preached to in prison when He had descended into "Paradise" to meet the thief on the cross there coupled with the N.T. disciples that will sit down together with the Lord Jesus Christ at the Marriage Supper.

Luke 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: 26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. 27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. 28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. 29 And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God. 30 And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.

God will be judging His House first at the pre trib rapture event and excommunicating those in iniquity to be received later on after the great tribulation as vessels unto dishonor in His House.

As it is, only vessels unto honor shall be received which has the O.T. saints and the N.T. disciples as found abiding in Him by His grace & His help at the King's Supper and so they are both Christ the firstfruits....

No need for opinion, let the bible tell you. Galatians 4:4 "But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law". can you believe the bible?.

As Jesus was circumcised as required by the law for Mary & Joseph to have it performed, yes, but was Jesus under the law? No. Because He is Lord of the sabbath day. You cannot say that the law of the sabbath day was lord over Jesus. Read Matthew 12:1-8 to find out how His disciples were blameless for plucking the corn out of the field on the sabbath day.

But we are talking about what John the Baptist was representing, and it was not the Old Covenant. He went beyond the Old Covenant by addressing the inner man; and was rebuking the religious men of the day whom by all outward appearances, were keeping the law, but inwardly, they were not.

Nobody was keeping the entire letter of the law, hence the Old Covenant, when Jesus had come because that was why Jesus had to come. John cannot be representing the Old Covenant even though it was still in place to show even his need for the Saviour when he has been preparing the way of the Lord for the coming New Covenant.
